NTRY KEY
The

i git keys,
0 through
9, are used to enter numbers into
the

regaster.
Numbers are entered serially,
the
last digit becom-
ang the least significant digit.
Used in conjunction with the following keys to
provide access
to the registers in the magnetic core memory:

Clears the X register only (0. ~ X).
Clears the ARC and HYPER conditions.
lt
is
not necessary to press CLEAR

before each entry.
CLEAR
X
is
required
if
the
number in
X has not been
'ter-
mtnated'
but
is
to be
erased
w1thout affecttng any other
regaster.
A
number is
terminated when an operatton
(e.g. -+,
+,
etc.)
has been performed after
entry
of the number;
in
this case
the next number entered will
automattcally
replace the ter-
minated number and CLEAR X ts not required.
A number
ts
not termtnated
if
the last key used was a dtgit,
decimal point, CHG SIGN or ENTER EXP: tn thts
case,
tf CLEAR
X 1s not used, the next number entered will not replace the un·
termtnated number but become a part of tt.
NOTE
Many of the examples throughout thts text tnclude
the CLEAR X key only because the preceedtng ex-
amples may have left an unterminated number tn
the X register.
