THE S-VIDEO CONNECTORS
When using a VCR, LDP or monitor TV which has S-VIDEO connectors,
they can be connected to the S-VIDEO connectors.
For the operation of components connected to S-VIDEO connectors,
refer to the instruction manuals of each component.
NOTE:
¢ In this unit, the S-VIDEO connectors (Y-C separate) and the regular
pin jacks are independent, so any signal input through a pin jack must
be output from the pin jack, and any signal input through an S- VIDEO
connector must be output through the S- VIDEO connector.
¢ The S-VIDEO connector is for video only, so be sure to make audio
connections also.
Precautions when connecting a monitor TV that automatically selects
between S-VIDEO input and regular video input.
The following conditions may arise if both the S-VIDEO connector and
regular video connector (pin jack) are connected to the same TV input
facility.
* if the AMP/TV
DISP key is pressed
for indication display during
playback from a component connected with a regular pin jack, the
picture will disappear.
This is because the indication display signal is also added to the
S-VIDEO signal, causing the monitor to detect S-VIDEO input and
therefore automatically select S-VIDEO as the source.
In this case, connect
the VSA-1000
VIDEO
OUT
(pin jack) to a
different S-VIDEO input jack on the monitor TV and switch manually.
