    INSTALLATION Install the Kogan Mesh App Download the Kogan Mesh App on your mobile device by searching for “Kogan Mesh” in App Store or Google Play or by scanning the OR code. Then, install the App.
  • Page 5 Connect the Primary node: The first node you set up functions as the primary node, while the rest are referred to as the secondary nodes. Internet Ethernet jack Modem Power off your modem and remove its battery (if any). Use the included Ethernet cable to connect to a LAN port on your modem to the WAN/LAN port on one of the nodes.

  • Page 7 Connect the secondary nodes to the internet Place each node: • In a high and open area. • Ensure that there are less than two walls between any two nodes. • Keep your nodes away from electronics with strong interference, such as microwave ovens, induction cookers and refrigerators.
  • Page 8 REGISTERING After completing the setup and installation using the Kogan Mesh App, a login prompt page appears. You can authorize the Kogan Mesh App to use Google+, alternatively press the “Other” button to create a login using your email address.

    MANAGEMENT TYPE This whole home mesh Wi-Fi system supports the Kogan Mesh App for local and remote management. You can choose either of them as needed. Local Management Local management indicates that you can use the Kogan Mesh App to manage your network after connecting your smart phone to the Wi-Fi network.

  • Page 13 To check or manage your nodes Tap the Wi-Fi name in the upper-right corner to enter the following page. All nodes in a network share the same Wi-Fi name. Wi-Fi Name Tap here to add manageable devices. To view details of the internet settings Tap the icon on the home page of the App.
  • Page 14 To view details of the nodes Tap the one of the node icons on the home page of the App to see details of the corresponding node. Choose this to delete the node from your Wi-Fi network. Choose this to change the location information of the node.
  • Page 15 To view the connected devices Tap the icon on the home page of the App. If you want to check the details of a device or manage more closely, choose the device. This indicates the frequency band of the Wi-Fi network the device connects.
  • Page 16 Choose this to rename the device, such as “Jack’s iPhone”. Choose this to create a group or add the connected device to a group for the parental control function. Choose this to check the details of the connected device. Choose this to blacklist the device. The devices in the blacklist cannot access the internet via the nova network.

    WIRELESS SETTINGS In this section, you can change the Wi-Fi name and password of your network. To change your Wi-Fi name and password Choose Settings > Wireless Settings to enter the configuration page. Change the Wi-Fi name and password as required. Tap Save.

    GUEST NETWORK The Guest Network function allows you to create a separate network for your guests to secure the main network. Procedure: Choose Settings > Guest Network to enter the configuration page. Set the button to the enabled state Change the Wi-Fi name, password and validity period as required. Tap Save.

    PARENTAL CONTROL The Parental Control function allows you to create a healthy time session for internet access for your family members. Procedure: Choose Setting > Parental Control to enter the configuration page. Create a group. • Tap Add Group. • Enter a group name, which is Family in this example and tap Next. •...

    Generally, you complete the internet settings by following the quick setup wizard of the Kogan Mesh App when you setup the nodes the first time. If your internet connection type or parameters are changed, you can set them again here to enable your nodes to access the internet.
  • Page 24 Setting up PPPoE Choose Settings > Internet Settings to enter the configuration page. Tap Connection Type. Select PPPoE. Enter the PPPoE username and password provided by your ISP. If a service name and a server name are provided, tap Advanced and enter them. Tap Save.

Setting up Static IP Address Choose Settings > Internet Settings to enter the configuration page. Tap Connection Type. Select Static IP Address. Enter IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and Primary DNS Server.
  • Page 26 Setting up Bridge Ensure that the one of the nodes in your network is connected to your router with internet accessibility using an Ethernet cable. Choose Settings > Internet Settings to enter the configuration page. Tap Connection Type. Select Bridge. Tap Save.

Set the button to the enabled state Enter download and upload speed based on your bandwidth value. If you don’t know the value, tap Online Test or ask your ISP.

    PORT FORWARDING The Port Forwarding function enables users to access your LAN resources, such as resources on the web server or FTP server, through the internet. Procedure: Choose Settings > Port Forwarding to enter the configuration page. Tap Add rule. Select the device to which the rule applies.

    LAN SETTINGS The LAN Settings function allows you to change the IP addresses assigned to all devices that are connected to the network. To change the LAN IP address of the node: Choose Settings > Lan Settings to enter the configuration page. Select a LAN IP address for the node.

    FIRMWARE UPGRADE Update the firmware whenever the App prompts a new firmware version is available. To update the firmware: Choose Settings > Firmware Upgrade to enter the configuration page. Tap Detect Latest Firmware. icon appears if a new firmware version is detected. Tap Update now to upgrade these nodes.

    MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE The Maintenance Schedule function makes the nodes reboot at a specified time to keep the nodes in good condition. To set up the Maintenance Schedule function: Choose Settings > Maintenance Schedule to enter the configuration page. Set the button to the enabled state Select a System Reboot Time.

An authorized account has the same permission as the bound account except for authorizing other accounts.   • Page 44 LAN wired connection If your wireless signal is weak due to a complex environment, (too many obstructions etc.) you can connect the secondary node(s) through LAN (local area network) wired connection. Power off your modem and remove its battery (if any). Connect an ethernet cable (not included) to a LAN port on the primary node.
