Changing Facing Arms

There are two different lengths of facing arm available for the MM305i internal flange facer, a
450mm long and a 300mm long version. Both arms are completely interchangeable. When changing
facing arms;
1. Support the arm using chocks or lifting equipment to prevent the arm falling under its
own weight when the securing bolts are released.
2. Release four M6 bolts in the back of the arm, as well as the three M4 grub screws
located in the MM250i-3-001 rail and remove them entirely.
3. Remove the M8 nut located within the handwheel. This will allow the arm assembly to
slide out and be removed.
Replacement or exchange for different length arm is a direct reversal of the above with the following
to note;
When installing the lead screw into the drive gear the outer hexagon drive will require aligning with
the internal hexagon in the drive gear by rotating the lead screw a small amount.
Also, take note that the MM500i-1-002 Gib Strip has a cut out that, when re-inserted into
the machine, must be placed with the cut-out facing the MM500i-1 hub.
