For adjustment, use the CD RECEIVER (XC-L7) in combination with the DISPLAY UNIT (XC-L7's accessory: DU-L7).
6.1 ADJUSTING PREPARATIONS
Prepare the following test discs and extension cables and connect

6.2 TEST MODE
m= Entering the Mechanism Module Test Mode
1) Connect MJ-L7 to the CD RECEIVER (XC-L7) and DISPLAY
UNIT (XC-L7's accessory: DU-L7), and insert the AC cord of
XC-L7 into the outlet.
2) While short-circuiting the W112 and W114 jumper wires of the
MD MAIN ASSY, insert the AC cord of MJ-L7 into the outlet.
(Refer to Fig. 6-2)
3) When first the STOP button of the Unit (MJ-L7) and then the
power button of the CD RECEIVER (XC-L7) is pressed,
"TEST4" will be displayed on the DISPLAY unit.
4) Press the I button of the unit. The display will change as
follows.
@) Test mode STOP state
AUTO
When the STOP button of the Unit is pressed in this state, the unit
shifts to state @). To return to this state again, press the MENU
button of DISPLAY unit.
'®) Test mode STOP state

Mechanism module microprocessor Ver. is displayed (For
approx. | second).

Shifts to state @) when the disc is inserted.
If a disc is already inserted, automatically shifts to state @.

Each time the MENU button of DISPLAY unit is pressed when the
DISPLAY is in the AUTO state, the mode will change as follows.
i AUTO — RESULT + MANUAL +> EEPROM SET —
gm Exiting the Mechanism Module Test Mode
1) The test mode can be exited by disconnecting the AC code from
the outlet. (The setting will not be recorded.)
2) In the test mode state, Press the POWER button of CD receiver.
The settings are written in the EEPROM, and the mechanism
module will reset and start according to the setting recorded by
the LSI. And the test mode can be exited.
Note: When the EEPROM settings are changed, the results are
written. This operation should be carried out carefully.
