The IP Interface converts telegrams on the KNX into IP telegrams on the Ethernet network according to the configuration in the ETS. In this way, data can be exchanged between the KNX and the IP network. The IPS/S fulfils the requirements of the EIBnet/IP specification. Together with the ETS (from ETS 3.0d), the IPS/S can also program devices via an LAN.

Lights green when the power supply is available and the device is ready for operation (approx. 80 sec after connection of power supply); blinks green when the devices starts or if an error has occurred.
LAN/LINK
Lights yellow when the connection to the Ethernet network has been set up; blinks yellow during data traffic.
Programming LED

Lights red when the device is in programming mode (after programming button has been pressed).
The device is suitable for installation in distribution boards or small enclosures and can be snapped onto 35 mm mounting rails according to DIN EN 60 715.
Ensure that after the installation the device is always accessible for operation, testing, inspection, maintenance or repair.
The terminal designations can be found on the housing. The connection to the KNX is made via the enclosed bus connection terminal.
The connection to the IP network (LAN) is set up via a connection with the RJ45 connector.
The physical address and the parameter settings are set using the Engineering Tool Software ETS (from Version ETS 3.0d).
A detailed description of the parameter configuration and commissioning steps can be found in the technical data. This information can be downloaded from the Internet site: www.abb.com/KNX
Installation and commissioning of the device may only be carried out by trained electricians. The relevant standards, directives, regulations and instructions must be observed when planning and implementing the electrical installation.
Should the device become soiled, it may be cleaned with a dry cloth. If this does not suffice, a cloth lightly moistened with soap solution may be used. On no account should caustic agents or solvents be used.
The device is maintenance free. Should damage have occurred, e.g. due to transport or storage, no repairs should be carried out.
The warranty expires if the device is opened!
