If the collector feet are not in line with roof rafters, blocks may be nailed into the joint cavity and the feet
then lag-bolted to the block. Securing collector feet to the roof rafter may also be done by using a span-
ner, using nuts and an all-thread rod to bolt down the feet. An additional wood block between the trusses
must be placed beside the all thread rod to prevent bowing of the sheathing when tightening the nuts in
the all thread rod. Spanners may be required in areas prone to hurricane-force wind.
It is important that in any case the collector feet are bolted to the roof frame.
