Searching for a title/
chapter/track/index
You can search a title (DVD), chapter (DVD),
track (CD, VIDEO CD, Super Audio CD, MP3),
index (VIDEO CD, Super Audio CD), and
album (MP3). As titles, tracks and albums are
assigned unique names on the disc, you can
select the desired one from the Control Menu.
Also chapters and indexes are assigned unique
numbers on the disc, so you select the desired
one by entering its number. Or you can search a
particular point using the time code (TIME
SEARCH).
Use the remote for the operation.

Press DVD DISPLAY while pressing
SHIFT.
The Control Menu appears.

Press V or v repeatedly to select the
search method.
x When playing a DVD
(TITLE),
or
(TIME)
Select TIME for TIME SEARCH.
x When playing a Super Audio CD
(TRACK),
(TIME)
x When playing a VIDEO CD (PBC
OFF)
(TRACK),
(TIME)
x When playing a CD
(TRACK) or
x When playing an MP3
(TRACK),
or
(TIME)

Press ENTER.
"** (**)" changes to "-- (**)".
The number in parentheses indicates the
total number of titles, chapters, tracks, or
indexes.

To search for a scene using
the time code (TIME SEARCH)
Use the remote for the operation.

To turn off the Control Menu
Press DVD DISPLAY repeatedly while pressing
SHIFT until the Control Menu is turned off.
Notes
(INDEX), or
• The displayed number of titles, chapters, or tracks is
the same as that recorded on the disc.
• When playing a VIDEO CD with PBC functions,
index number does not appear.
(TIME)
• Time search and Index search cannot be used during
PBC playback of Video CDs.
• When the chapter number does not appear, you
(ALBUM),
cannot search the disc by chapter.
• The number in parentheses does not appear when it
is 100 or more.
Press V or v repeatedly, or press the
numeric buttons to select the title,
chapter, track, or index number you
want to search.
If you make a mistake
Press CLEAR to cancel the number, then
select another number.
Press ENTER.
The playback starts from the selected
number.
In step 2, select "TIME".
"T **:**:**" (playing time of the current
title) is selected.
Press ENTER.
"T **:**:**" changes to "--:--:--".
Input the time code using the numeric
buttons, then press ENTER.
For example, to find the scene at 2 hours,
10 minutes, and 20 seconds after the
beginning, just enter "2:10:20".
