Before Using your Unit

  1. Remove all packaging before using for the first time.
  2. Clean the kettle thoroughly before using for the first time. (see section: cleaning your kettle)
  3. Remove the kettle from the base.
  4. Take off the lid.
  5. Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX line.
  6. When water is in the kettle - insert the lid with the holes facing towards the handle.
  7. Connect the power plug to a wall outlet.
  8. Press the power on button to start boiling the water. The indicator light will light up. Use default temperature.
    Starting the unit

NOTE: The appliance default temperature is 185º F (85ºC)

  1. After boiling is finished the kettle turns off automatically.
  2. When using for the first time- boil water at least two times- and dispose the hot water in the sink.
  3. Let the appliance cool down one minute before boiling water again.


Be careful when handling hot water. You can burn yourself.


Do not immerse the base or the kettle in water or in any liquids. This may cause an electric shock or damage the appliance.

USING YOUR DEVICE

USING YOUR DEVICE - Setting up the Unit

Setting up the Unit:

  • Set the base on a flat, even and steady surface.
  • Remove the kettle from the base. Place the waterproof cover on top of base.
  • Take off the lid.
  • Fill the kettle with cold water. Do not fill over the max marking. See the water level for adding the desired amount of water.
  • After filling the kettle with water, insert the lid into the kettle with holes facing towards the handle.
  • Plug the power cord into a standard wall outlet.
  • Put the kettle firmly on the base and press the power button on, the power indicator light will appear, and the display temperature flashes for 3 seconds.

Selecting the display temperature scale, Fahrenheit or Celsius:

  • Press the ºF/ºC button to display the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius when power on.

Setting the shut off Temperature:
Manual setting shut off temperature:

  • Press the shut off button, the temperature will flash on the display.
  • Press the + or - button to select shut off temperature.
  • Once the display stops flashing the temperature is set and the display shows current water temperature.

Selecting the preset shut off temperatures:

  • Press the shut off temperature set button until your desired preset Shut off temperature is displayed.

Note: The appliance preset temperatures are:
140ºF (60ºC), 176ºF (80ºC), 185ºF (85ºC), 190ºF (88ºC), 205ºF (96ºC) and 208ºF (98ºC)

  • The appliance default temperature is 185º F (85ºC)

Note: once you have set the shut off temperature it is stored in memory and will be recalled whenever you turn on the kettle. No need to set it every time unless you want to change the shut off temperature.

Note: During the heating cycle the LED display shows the current water temperature.

Note: After the set temperature is reached the heater will shut off. The display will continue showing the water temperature for up to 1 hour if the kettle was NOT removed from the base.

Note: If the kettle is removed from the base during a heating cycle, the heating cycle and Power On indicator light shuts off, and the LED display will show "0 00". When the kettle is returned to base the display will show the current water temperature for 7 minutes and then shut off.
Note: To manually stop the boiling process, press the on/off button at any time. The heater and LED lights will shut off.

Selecting Water Temperature Hold:
This feature allows the kettle to reach and maintain water at a set temperature for up to an hour. (This is an optional setting)

  1. Select the shut off temperature using above steps.
  2. Press the hold button, the last set hold temperature will flash on the display for 3 seconds and the hold indicator LED light will turn on.
  3. When the set temperature is reached the heater will turn on and off to maintain a set temperature. The power On indicator light will stay on and the LED display will show the current water temperature.
  4. When you lift the kettle to pour and then return it to the base, the hold button must be pressed again within 5 seconds if you want to continue the hold temperature function. If you do not press the hold button within 5 seconds of returning to base the display will show current water temperature for 7 minutes and then the unit will power on.

Count Up Timer Feature:
Note: When you lift the kettle, the LED display will display the count-up timer. the first digit indicates the minutes, and the last two digits are the seconds (the maximum count time is 7 minutes). Press the + button to start the timer.

Selecting the display temperature scale, Fahrenheit or Celsius:

  • Press the ºF/ºC button to display the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius when powered on.

  • Press the + or - button to select shut off temperature.
  • Once the display stops flashing the temperature is set and the display shows current water temperature.

Suggested temperature chart:

Setting Temperature
Coffee 198-200ºF
Green tea 175-185ºF
White tea 175-185ºF
Oolong Tea 185-205ºF
Black tea/herbal tea/tea bags 212ºF
Cereal 195ºF
Cocoa 190ºF

Customizing the unit lid tension:
If you feel the kettle lid is too hard or too easy to remove from the kettle, please follow the steps below to adjust the tension:

  • Takeoff the lid from the kettle.
  • Use a tool to adjust the three tabs of the kettle lid.

  • If you push in the tab, the lid tension will be less and easier to push on and off.
  • If you pull out the tab, the lid will be harder to take on and off.
  • Adjust the tab, take the lid on and off to see if the adjustment is correct.
  • Repeat, until you have customized the lid to your preference.

  • The appliance is very hot during use.

  • Do not touch kettle surface it is extremely hot and you can burn yourself.
  • Never leave the kettle unattended while boiling water- especially when children are nearby.
  • Do not open the lid while boiling water.
  • shock hazard Do not immerse the base or the kettle in water or any liquids. This can cause electric shock or damage to the appliance.
  • Be careful when handling hot water- there is danger of scalding.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Cleaning and Storing the Device

  • Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
  • Clean the kettle regularly.
  • Clean the outside of the base and the kettle with a damp soft cloth.
  • Clean the kettle regularly. This appliance contains no user serviceable parts and requires little maintenance. Leave any servicing or repairs to qualified personnel.

  • Clean the inside of the kettle with dishwasher detergent and rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Do not use abrasive cleansers.
  • After cleaning dry the kettle and the base thoroughly.


Never immerse the kettle or the base in water or other liquids.

STORAGE

Clean and dry all parts before storing. Store the kettle in its box or in a clean, dry place. Never wrap the power cord around the kettle. Wrap the cord under the kettle base storage holder.

  11. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.
  12. Do not fill the kettle when positioned on base. Remove all moisture on the bottom of the body before placing it onto the power base.
  13. Beware of steam escaping from the spout or lid especially during refilling. Do not remove lid during boiling cycle.
  14. Do not use the kettle to heat anything other than water. Do not fill above the "Max" line. If the kettle is overfilled, the water will boil over. Only use the kettle base provided.
  15. Do not insert any objects into the slots or holes of the kettle.
  16. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed while the water is boiling.
  17. For household use only.
