  1. Plug the power adapter to a mains outlet.
  2. Connect the DC plug of the power adapter to the power cord. The clock will beep.

  1. Open the battery cover with a screwdriver.
  2. Insert one CR2032 button cell to the battery compartment for clock backup battery. Make sure the button cell is inserted with correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment.

Setting

Remote Sensor(EW99)

This product is shipped with one remote sensor. The clock can collect data from up to 3 remote sensors. (Only one remote sensor is included; additional sensors are sold separately.)
The remote sensor collects temperature readings for the clock.

  1. Open the battery cover at the back of the sensor.
  2. Insert two "AAA" batteries with correct polarity.
    If low battery icon, , is shown on top of the remote sensor temperature reading, new batteries must be inserted into the respective sensor.
    After inserting the new batteries, press the RESET button of the remote sensor.

Pairing up remote sensor(s)

  1. Wave across the display with your hand to change the displayed value, from time, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature ( / / ).
  2. When the outdoor temperature reading from the desired channel is displayed, to initiate remote sensor search of the respective channel, press the buttons.

The icon shows the signal strength between the clock and the respective remote sensor. Icon indicates the signal is strong and indicates that the signal is weak.
Data are sent from the sensor(s) every 60 seconds.

Clock

There are two methods to set the time and date:

  1. Automatically through radio controlled clock signal
  2. Manually

Radio-controlled clock

This product is designed to synchronise its clock automatically once it is connected to power and within range of a radio signal.

  1. To set the time zone compensation (± 23 hours (for European version) or PMCE* (American version) and display hour format, press and hold the button.
  2. To set the value, press or button
  3. Confirm the value, press button.

Turning on / off the radiocontrolled clock function

  1. To turn off, press and hold the button.
  2. To activate the radio-controlled clock, press button.

Setting the time manually

If reception of the official time signal is not possible, the time and date need to be set manually. To do so, the radio controlled clock function must be deactivated beforehand.

  1. To enter clock time setup, press and hold button.
  2. To increase or decrease values of the selected setting, press or button.
  3. To confirm and proceed to next setting, press button.
  4. Set the parameters in the following order: the time zone compensation (± 23 hours (for European version) or PMCE* (American version), 12 / 24 hour format, hour, and minute.

*P = Pacific standard time zone;
M = Mountain standard time zone;
C = Central Standard Time zone;
E = Eastern Standard Time zone.

Weather Forecast

Preparing for Weather Forecast

  • Carefully place the crystal weather figurines on top of the clock. Make sure that it is securely positioned on the clock.
  • Attach the backdrop to the back of the clock with two plastic fasteners.
  • Place your hand in front of the display for 3 seconds to activate light exposition. The clock will beep. Each weather figurine will be lighted up successively during light exposition.
  • Place your hand in front of the display again for 3 seconds to deactivate it.

warning

  • The crystal weather figurines is very fragile and should be handled carefully. Oregon Scientific will not be liable for any damage or injury caused by mishandling this product.
  • Set the clock before placing the crystal weather figurines.
  • Remove the crystal weather figurines before moving or inverting the clock.
  • Do not look directly at the LED light as it may hurt your eyes.

Display

Time

Wave your hand across the motion sensor to change display mode in following sequence: time, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature ( / / ) of paired up remote sensor.
To display time, press button.
To display the temperature reading, press button.

Temperature display unit

Change the temperature display unit by press button when temperature reading is displayed.

Backlight intensity

The clock will adjust the backlight intensity automatically, subject to the atmospheric light.

Automatic polling

To initiate automatic polling, set switch. The time, indoor temperature reading, and temperature reading of each remote sensor will be display successively. Each value will be displayed for 5 seconds. To off to end automatic polling, set switch.

Reset

To return unit to default settings, press button.

Time → Indoor temperature → Outdoor temperature ( ) (if available)

warning During radio controlled clock signal reception, the motion sensing functions of the display and the lighting effects on the weather figurines will be suspended. The weather figurine of the predicted weather will be lighted continuously. All display functions resume after the reception is finished.
