Do not look directly at the LED light as it may hurt your eyes.

SET UP

  1. Plug in the adapter to power the unit.
  2. Set the clock as shown in the Clock section.
  3. Carefully place the crystal weather forecast unit on top of the base. Make sure that it is squarely positioned on the base and that the weather icons are facing the correct way.

NOTE
To check the unit is set up correctly, make sure the weather icons on the base unit are facing the same way as the icons on the crystal unit.


The crystal weather forecast unit is very fragile and should be handled carefully. Oregon Scientific will not be liable for any damage or injury caused by mishandling this product.

NOTE
This product may malfunction when radio interference appears on the AC power line. The unit will revert to normal operation when interference stops. Make sure the adapter socket is easily accessible to the unit.

CLOCK RECEPTION

This product is designed to synchronize its clock automatically once it is within range of a radio signal:

  • DCF-77 generated from Frankfurt, Germany for Central Europe
  • MSF-60 generated from Rugby, England

The clock collects the radio signals whenever it is within 1500 km (932 miles) of a signal. Slide the EU / UK switch to the appropriate position for your location. Repeat each time you reset the unit.

NOTE
For best results, place the clock away from metal or electrical objects, and near a window with a clear view to the sky.

To enable / disable a signal search:
Press and hold .

STRONG SIGNAL WEAK SIGNAL NO SIGNAL

NOTE
It takes up to 10 minutes to get a valid signal reception. However, if the radio signal is weak it can take up to 24 hours.

CHANGE DISPLAY

  1. To automatically toggle between the indoor temperature and time display, slide the AUTO ON / OFF to ON.
  2. To use the motion sensor to change the display, wave your hand across the motion sensor.

CLOCK

To set the clock (when radio-reception is disabled):

  1. Press and hold CLOCK for 2 seconds.
  2. Press to change the setting.
  3. Press CLOCK to confirm.
  4. The setting order is: Hour offset, 12/24 hr format, hour and minute.

WEATHER FORECAST

The next 12 to 24 hour weather forecast is shown by the weather icon color.

ICON COLOR MEANING
Red Sunny
Blue Cloudy
Green Rainy

TEMPERATURE

Press ºC / ºF to change the measurement unit.

RESET

Press RESET to return unit to default settings.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust, temperature or humidity
  • Do not cover the ventilation holes with any items such s newspapers, curtains etc.
  • Do not immerse the unit in water. If you spill liquid over it, dry it immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not clean the unit with abrasive or corrosive materials.
  • Do not tamper with the unit's internal components. This invalidates the warranty.
  • Only use fresh batteries. Do not mix new and old batteries.
  • Images shown in this manual may differ from the actual display.
  • When disposing of this product, ensure it is collected separately for special treatment.
  • Placement of this product on certain types of wood may result in damage to its finish for which Oregon Scientific will not be responsible. Consult the furniture manufacturer's care instructions for information.
