STEP 4: Start the engine and make sure the log splitter is level before operating.
NOTE: The hydraulic oil must be above 10°F (-12°C) before starting the engine. Cold hydraulic oil can damage the hydraulic
pump. If the outside air temperature is below 32°F (0°C), allow the log splitter to warm up by extending and returning the wedge
several times before splitting wood.
STEP 5: Place both support legs in the down position to prevent the log splitter from moving during operation and lock both
wheels.
STEP 6: Load a log on the beam against the end plate (Maximum log length-25").
WARNING
• Ensure hands are clear of wedge and crushing hazard areas.
The wedge can cut skin and break bones. Keep both hands away from the wedge and slide.
Serious accidents can occur when others can enter the work area.
Keep everyone else out of the work area while operating the control lever.
DO NOT wear loose clothing. It can become entangled in moving parts of the log splitter.
Only use the log splitter in daylight so you can see what you are doing.
CAUTION
• If a log becomes stuck, wedged or does not split completely, push the control lever in the reverse direction and
allow the splitter to remove the log from the wedge.
