Installation
1. Before installation, verify the correct size LFiDROSET
CSD has been selected for the application. Be sure to
review all operating parameter specifications found on
the ES document to ensure the valve is fit for the appli
cation.
2. The system must be thoroughly flushed to remove dirt
and debris before installing the valve. For retrofit appli
cations, it is recommended that a wye strainer (such as
the Watts LF777SI) be installed. LFiDROSET hardware
kit comes with strainer. Install immediately upstream of
the valve.
3. The valve is directional – see flow direction arrow on back of valve.
4. The valve should be installed in an accessible location with the gauge positioned for easy
reading.
5. For maximum accuracy, the flow measurement valve should be located in an unrestricted
straight pipe run so that no fittings (elbow, valve, tee, etc.) is closer to the measurement
valve than 5 pipe diameters upstream and 2 pipe diameter downstream. If a balancing
valve is located downsteam from a circulation pump, allow a distance of ten (10) diameters
between the pump and balancing valves.
System Commissioning & Balancing
1. Upon commissioning of the system, open the valve completely by turning hand wheel full
counter-clockwise.
2. During the balancing process, adjust the desired flow rate in GPM according to the project
data. Turn the wheel counter-clockwise to increase the flow and clockwise to decrease the
flow.
3. Once the balancing process is complete, tighten the screw to lock the hand wheel with a
3mm Allen key. For future reference and to aid system diagnostics, set the red pointer to
the desired flow rate.
Maintenance
1. It is recommended that the valve be fully opened and closed at least twice a year to
ensure it is free of dirt and debris and (if
equipped) the wye strainer be serviced.
