CHOKECONTROL
Thechokecontrol knobis locatedon the lowerIdt sideof the dash
paneland isactivatedby pullingoutward.Activatingthe chokecontrol
closesthechoke plateon the carburetorand aids in startingthe
engine.
PTO (BLADE ENGAGE) CON-
TROL KNOB
Toengagethe electricPTOand providepowerto
the cuttingdeck, pull outwardon the PTOcontrol
knob. Pushthe knobinwardto disengagethe PTO
and stop thecuttingdeck.
NOTE:The PTOControl Knobmustbe in the
disengaged(OFF) positionwhen startingthe
engine.

BRAKE PEDAL
The brakepedalis locatedat the front of the left runningboardand is
usedfor quick stops,or settingtheparkingbrake.This pedal mustbe
fully depressedto activatethe safetyinterlock s witchwhen startingthe
tractor.
DECK LIFT LEVER
The deck lift leveris locatedin the rightfenderand is usedto change
the cuttingheightof the mowerdeck.Thecuttingheights rangefrom
1-1/2"to 4".Eachof the six indexnotchesrepresentan approximately
1/2"adjustmentto the deck height.
1. To use,graspthe lift leverhandleand pull slightlyupward(rear-
ward)while pivotingthe leverinwardand out of its indexnotch.
2. Movethe lift leveras necessaryto placein the notchbest suited
for yourapplication.
After changingthe cuttingheightof thedeck, youmustcheckthe
positionof the deck front gaugewheels.They shouldbe approximately
lbinch abovethe groundwhenthe tractoris on a smooth,flat surface
suchas a driveway.Referto "Service& Maintenance" l aterin this
manual.
PARKING BRAKE LEVER
NOTE:Theparkingbrakemustbe set if the operator ,_,_%,
leavesthe seatwith the engine running;otherwisethe

enginewill automatically shut off.
1. Toset the parkingbrake,fully depressthe brake
pedaland pushthe bottomof parkingbrakelever
inward.Seethe imageto the rightfor parkingbrake
identification.Holdthe leverin while removing your
foot fromthe brakepedal.Bothparkingbrakelever
and brakepedalwill staydepressed.
2. Toreleasethe parkingbrake,depressthe brakepedal slightly.
Theparkingbrakeleverwill then returnto its originalposition.
IMPORTANT: A lwaysset the parkingbrakewhen leavingthetractor
unattended.
FORWARD CONTROL PEDAL
Theforwardcontrol pedalis locatedon the rightsideof the tractor,at
the frontof the rightrunningboard.Depressthe forwardcontrolpedal
to causethe tractorto travelin the forwarddirection.The forward
groundspeedof thetractorisdirectlyaffectedby the distancethe
pedal isdepressed.Thefurther the pedalisdepressed,thefasterthe
tractorwill travel.Thetractorwill slowand the pedal will returnto its
originalpositionwhenreleased.
REVERSE CONTROL PEDAL
The reversecontrolpedal is locatedin the rightfront runningboard
rearwardof theforwardcontrol pedal.Depressthe reversecontrol
pedalto cause thetractorto travel in reverse.Thefurther the pedalis
depressed,the fasterthetractorwill travel.The tractorwill slow and
the pedalwill returnto itsoriginal positionwhen released.
CUP HOLDER
The tractor'scup holderis locatedon the fenderto the left of the seat.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT LEVER
The seat adjustment l everis on the left side of the seat.Usethis lever
to adjust the seatforwardor rearwardto a comfortableoperating
position.Seethe "Service& Maintenance"sectionlaterin this manual
for instructions.
FUEL FILL CAP AND FUEL LEVEL
WINDOW
The fuelfill cap is locatedin the centerof the rear fender.Pivot
the seat forwardto fully accessthe fuelfill cap and fill the fuel
tank.
1. Turnthefill capapproximately 1/4 turnand pull upwardto
remove.
2. Pushthe cap downward on the fueltank fill neck and turn
1/4turn clockwiseto tighten.
The levelof fuel in the fueltank can be viewedthroughthefuel
levelwindowin the rear hitchplate.
CARGO NET
Conveniently locatedon thetractor'sdashpanel,thecargo netcan be
usedto storepersonalitemswhileoperatingthe lawntractor.
IVT (INFINITELY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION)
RELEASE LEVERS
The IVT transmissionreleaseleversare locatedat the back of the
tractorabovethe rearhitch plate.Whenengaged,theseleversopen
a dumpvalve in eachtransmissionwhichallows thetractorto be
manuallypushedshort distances.See"Movingthe TractorManually"
laterin this sectionfor instructions.
