b. Position the heat-sink-and-fan assembly on the system board. Ensure that the four screws are
aligned with the holes in the system board. Follow the following sequence to tighten the four
screws to secure the new heat-sink-and-fan assembly. Do not over-tighten the screws.
– Partially tighten screw
– Partially tighten screw
Notes:
– Apply appropriate amount of thermal grease to the new heat-sink-and-fan assembly.
– Ensure that the heat-sink-and-fan assembly cable is toward the microprocessor fan connector
on the system board.
