Inovonics FA223S Installation Instructions




 
To activate the FA223S, press and hold the Activation Button for at least 1 second.
To activate the FA223D, press and hold both Activation Buttons for at least 1 second.
Alarm signals are transmitted multiple times, and are indicated by the blinking Trans-
mit LED.
Holding the buttons results in continuous transmission.
When either button is released, the FA223S/D will complete its alarm transmission,
then will send an alarm restoral signal so that receiver devices configured for fol-
lower mode will return to their normal state.

Caution:





• Do not over-tighten screws when replacing the back cover.
Correct torque is 1.5 inch-pounds.
• Be careful not to damage the gasket material to preserve water-resis-
tance capability.
• Tighten screws evenly for good seal.


Inovonics recommends that pendants always be supervised.
Pendants should also be tested at least once per week.

Changing the battery:
1) Remove three screws from the
back of the housing.
2) Make sure that the battery is
inserted with the positive (+
terminal facing the indicated
side of the holder
3) After replacing the battery,
press the Internal Reset But-
ton to reset the transmitter to
its most recent programming.





4) Replace back cover. See
Caution below.
5) Thoroughly test the unit before
returning to service.

Intended use: The FA223S and FA223D portable transmitters are intended to be
installed and serviced by licensed security professionals.
Besides having two Activation Buttons, the FA223D differs from the FA223S in the
following ways: housing color is gray, and the transmission indicator LED operates at
low intensity.
The FA223S and FA223D have water-resistant housings that protect the pendant
when worn in the bathtub, shower, rain, or other environments where the pen-
dant may be splashed with water or momentarily submerged.

1. Open the transmitter housing by removing three phillips-head screws.
2. When prompted by the programming device to plug in the transmitter, connect the
programming cable to the 3-pin Programming Header (connection is reversible).
3. Press the Internal Reset Button.
4. Disconnect the programming cable.
5. Re-assemble and thoroughly test the transmitter. Apply 1.5 inch-pounds when tight-
ening screws.
NOTE: FA223S/D transmitters retain programming data in non-volatile memory. They
do not require reprogramming after loss of power. Install new battery and press
either the Internal Reset Button or the External Reset Button to re-initialize the
transmitter and restore programming.
IMPORTANT: The FA223S/D should always be programmed for supervision.

The FA223S and FA223D can be carried in three convenient ways:
Around the neck as a pendant (standard).
On a belt with the beltclip attachment (standard).
On the arm with optional wristband accessory (ACC623Sor ACC623L).

Substitution of stronger cords or chains may result in injury to the wearer.
