You can neither see, taste nor smell carbon monoxide.
To avoid danger from carbon monoxide:
▶ Have the heating system inspected and serviced regularly by an
approved contractor.
▶ Use a CO detector, which gives an alarm in good time if CO escapes.
▶ If you suspect a CO leak:
– Warn your neighbours and leave the building immediately.
– Call an approved contractor.
– Have any defects rectified.
HInspection, cleaning and maintenance
The user is responsible for ensuring the heating system is safe and
environmentally compatible.
Non-existent or improper inspection, cleaning and maintenance may
result in personal injury, including danger to life or material damage.
We recommend that you enter into a contract covering an annual
inspection and responsive cleaning and maintenance with an approved
contractor.
▶ Have work carried out only by an approved contractor.
▶ Have the appliance and heating system inspected by an approved
contractor at least once a year.
▶ Have any required cleaning or maintenance work carried out
immediately.
▶ Have any defects in the appliance and heating system remedied
immediately, independent of the annual inspection.

any work, in accordance with the relevant Installation Regulations.
Any misuse or unauthorised modifications to the appliance, flue or
associated accessories and heating system will invalidate the guarantee.
