  • Page 17: Technical Description

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION The 60-711 is a single or dual 24 x 8 video matrix. Much of this description assumes the product supplied is the dual version and references to dual matrices or extended matrices should be ignored if the device is a single matrix.
  • Page 18: Using The Matrix

USING THE MATRIX The 60-711 Dual Video Matrix consists of two separate 24 x 8 coaxial matrices which can be used independently (see Figure 2-2). The Y axes of the matrices can be connected together using two banks of Matrix Isolation Switches allowing one or all of the Y lines to be interlinked.
  • Page 19 If one input terminal is connected to more than one output terminal it will have a significant impact on the bandwidth of the switching system. If the 60-711 is intended for use in a 50Ω system again the bandwidth will be affected. The user should use a 75Ω to 50Ω adaptor on each interface.

  • Page 21: Installation

HARDWARE INSTALLATION The 60-711 may be mounted on a desk top or fitted into a standard 19 inch rack (rack mounting flanges are supplied with the unit and can be fitted to either side of the front panel). When fitting into a rack it is important to provide adequate support using side brackets or runners, the mounting holes in the front panel flanges are designed only for securing the unit in the rack and must NOT be used to support the weight of the whole unit.
