System management
modes
The management methods of TES70 series equipment are flexible and convenient, which can be
divided into the following categories:
Classified by
network management location: Local management mode and Telnet remote
◼
login mode
The local management mode means that the management computer or server is
−
directly connected to the devices through the network management ports of the
device for management. For example, the NMS port of TES70 series devices is a typical
local management port.
Telnet remote login mode means that the management computer or server is
−
connected to the device through the internet for management. For example, the GE
and 10 GE uplink port of TES70 series devices are typical remote login management
ports.
Classified by management channels: Inband management mode and outband management
◼
mode
Outband management mode means that management information is transmitted over
−
a separate physical channel instead of a service channel. Management information
and business information are completely independent and do not affect each other.
Therefore, compared with inband management mode, outband management mode
provides a more reliable management channel. Even when the service channel fails,
the outband network management mode can timely locate the device failure and
monitor the device in real time.
Inband management mode means that management information is transmitted over
−
the service channel provided by the managed device. The disadvantage of inband
management mode is that the management information occupies the service channel,
and the device cannot be maintained when the service channel fails.
