5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Warning!
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
5.1 Fitting the dust collection box (Fig. 2)
The dust collection box (4) must be pushed onto
the connector for the dust collection box (a).
Push the dust collection box (4) onto the equip-
ment until you hear it click clearly.
To remove the dust collection box (4), pull the
dust collection box to the rear and off.
The dust is extracted directly into the dust coll-
ection box through the abrasive paper and the
oscillating plate.
5.2 Securing sanding/grinding paper using a
clamp (Fig. 3-6)
Only use sanding/grinding paper of the appropria-
te size and suitable perforations.
Lift the lever (6) on the front of the orbital san-
der.
Insert the sanding/grinding paper as far as
possible into the open clamp and close the
lever again.
Place the sanding/grinding paper taut over
the orbital plate (5) and clamp it again using
the second lever (6) on the rear of the orbital
sander.
Make sure that the perforations in the sand-
ing/grinding paper line up with the oscillating
plate.
5.3 Punching holes in universal sanding pa-
per (Fig. 7-10)
A paper punch plate for punching holes in univer-
sal sanding paper is supplied together with the
sheet sander. This is needed to secure a dust-free
sanding using a universal sanding paper.
Place the paper punch plate on a level work-
top.
Align the base plate of the tool with the two
stops on the punching plate as shown on the
Fig. 8.
Now hold the tool securely by the handle
and firmly press it onto the punching plate as
shown in Fig. 9.

5.4 Fastening the sanding/grinding paper
with the dual paper fix fastening system
(Fig. 11)
Only use sanding/grinding paper with the
corresponding dimensions and matching per-
forations.
Place the sanding/grinding paper onto the os-
cillating plate (5) as shown in figure 11. Make
sure that the perforations in the sanding/
grinding paper coincide with the oscillating
plate.

6. Operation

6.1 Switching the machine on and off (Fig. 12/
Item 2)
To switch on:
Slide the ON/OFF switch (2) to the right (I).
To switch off:
Slide the ON/OFF switch (2) to the left (0).
6.2 Working with the orbital grinder/sander
Place the whole surface area of the sanding
disk on the material.
Switch on the machine and move it with gen-
tle pressure over the workpiece completely
circular movements or moving it to and fro
and up and down.
Use a coarse paper for coarse sanding and a
finer paper for finish sanding. You can find the
best paper for the job by means of testing.
Caution!
The dust generated when working with the ma-
chine may be harmful.
Always wear goggles and a dust mask when
carrying out sanding/grinding work.
Everybody who uses the machine or enters
the workplace must wear a dust mask.
Do not eat, drink or smoke at the workplace.
Do not use the machine on paints which con-
tain lead.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged,
it must be replaced by its authorized after-sales
service to avoid danger.
