- Check for loose parts and
tighten as necessary.
• Do not tilt the machine while the
power source is running.
• Ensure that you do not connect
a damaged cable to the power
supply or touch a damaged
cable before it has been discon-
nected from the power supply
since damaged cables pose the
risk of coming into contact with
live parts.
• Ensure that you do not touch
any of the dangerous moving
parts before you have un-
plugged the machine from the
mains supply, and that the dan-
gerous moving parts have come
to a complete standstill.
Maintenance and storage:
• Check the operational service-
ability and integrity of the de-
vice regularly in order to avoid
danger to the operator.
• Replace worn or damaged parts
in the interests of safety. Only
use original replacement parts
and accessories.
• Do not attempt to repair the
appliance yourself unless you
have specific training to do so.
Leave any work not listed in this
manual to our Service Centre.
• Keep the device in a dry loca-
tion and out of reach of chil-
dren.
• Handle the unit with care. Clean
the ventilation slits regularly;
keep to the maintenance instruc-
tions.
• Keep all cooling air inlets clear
of dirt.

• If the power cable for this equip-
ment is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer,
a customer service agent of the
same or a similarly qualified
person in order to prevent haz-
ards.
• Do not use the appliance if the
on/off switch does not work
properly. Always have a dam-
aged switch repaired by our
Service Centre.
• Do not overload your device.
Work only within the indicated
range of performance. Do not
employ any low power ma-
chines for heavy work. Do not
use your device for purposes for
which it has not been designed.
• If you stop the machine for
maintenance, inspection, stor-
age or to change accessories,
switch off the power source,
disconnect the machine from the
mains supply, and ensure that
all moving parts have come to
a standstill. Allow the machine
to cool down before inspection,
changing settings etc. Maintain
the machine with care and keep
it clean.
• Always allow the machine to
cool down before storage.
• When maintaining the shred-
ding unit, be aware that it can
always still move even if the
power source is switched off by
the locking function or protec-
tive equipment.
• Never try to circumvent the lock-
ing function or protective equip-
ment.
