INSTRUCTION MANUAL
ARE YOU WEARING THE SUITABLE & NECESSARY PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT?
Whenever the machine is in use, safety glasses/goggles must be worn to safeguard against flying objects.
Hearing protection must also be used to protect the operators hearing. If the operator is working in an area
where there is a risk of falling objects, a safety helmet must also be worn. Wear boots with saw protection,
steel-toe cap and non- slip sole. Suitable chainsaw protection gloves are also recommended. Adequate
protective clothing will reduce personal injury from flying debris or accidental contact with the saw chain.
CARBURETTOR ADJUSTMENT
The carburettor has been factory adjusted but may require fine tuning due to change in operating
conditions. If the carburettor needs to be adjusted, be sure to adjust it with the bar and saw chain in
position. Before adjusting the carburettor, make sure that the air &fuel filters are clean and fresh, correctly
mixed fuel is being used.
H and L needles are restricted within the number of turns as shown:
H needle –1/4 L needle –1/4
Start engine and allow it to warm up in low speed for a few minutes.
Turn idle adjusting screw 'T' (1) anti-clockwise, so that the saw chain does not turn. If idle speed is too slow,
turn the idle adjusting screw (1) clockwise.
Make a test cut, adjust the H needle for best cutting power, not for maximum speed.
KICKBACK
Kickback is the sudden backward/upward motion of the chainsaw, occurring when the chain (at the tip of
the chain bar) comes into contact with a log or wood, or when the chain becomes jammed. When Kickback
occurs, the chainsaw reacts unpredictably and can cause severe injuries to the operator or bystanders. To
avoid Kickback:
-
Saw with the guide bar at a flat angle
-
Never work with a loose, widely stretched or heavily worn out chain.
-
Ensure the chain is sharpened correctly.
-
Never saw above shoulder height.
-
Never work with the tip of the guide bar.
-
Always hold the chainsaw firmly with two hands.
-
Always use a low kickback chain.
-
Apply the metal spike for leverage.
-
Ensure correct chain tension.
It is extremely important that the chain brake is checked for proper operation before each use and that the
chain be sharp in order to maintain the kickback safety level of this saw. Removal of the safety devices,
