FUNCTIONS
AIR FRY
Air frying can be used as a healthy alternative style of cooking, requiring little to no oil and using rapid hot air to cook meals faster.
Operating Instructions:
- Place your food on or inside the appropriate accessory and position it inside the oven. Close the doors once the accessory is properly positioned.
- Turn the function knob to the AIR FRY setting.
- Turn the temperature knob clockwise and select your desired temperature.
Note: If you wish to change either the temperature or the cooking time during the cooking cycle, simply turn either of the knobs to your preference. Turn clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease. Time can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes and temperature from 170° to 450°F.
- When ready, turn the timer knob clockwise to the desired cooking time to begin your cycle. The appliance will only start cooking once the timer knob has been set.
- The Power light will turn on to indicate the unit is generating heat. It will turn off (until doors are closed again) if the doors are opened during the cooking process.
- Tip: Flipping or turning food halfway through the cooking process ensures more even results.
- When the countdown timer ends, a bell will ring to indicate the end of the cooking cycle, and the heating elements will turn off.
- Carefully take out your food with oven mitts and/or using the tray handle if cooking on the baking pan.
Tip: the cooking process can be cancelled at any time by turning the timer knob to 0 or turning the function knob to OFF.
Notes:
- Although oil is not necessary, a small portion of oil can be sprayed on or brushed on food before air frying. Make sure to distribute oil evenly on food.
- Most foods require flipping halfway through the cooking process for crispier and more even results. In addition, placing food as a single layer on the accessory ensures that all sides of the food receive the same heat exposure.
- Open your oven and take a spatula to move your food around and ensure even heat exposure.
- Using heat-proof gloves, you can also shake the accessory to make sure the food ends up flat and evenly spaced.
- When cooking on 'fast air fry, pay close attention to your food to prevent that the outside cooks faster than the inside. This mode is best for reheating already cooked food or finishing off foods to ensure maximum crispiness.
- Some foods release water or oil when cooked. When cooking large quantities of these types of food for an extended period, condensation may build up, which could leave moisture on your countertop.
- Cooking will be paused automatically if doors are opened, but timer will continue to count down. Add more time if needed. To resume cooking close the doors.
- Use the baking pan in the lowest level to catch falling water, oil, or crumbs.
- Once you are done cooking and the appliance has cooled off completely, turn the function knob back to OFF.

This table only provides a basic template for common foods. Times and temperature are indicative, and results can vary on food and/or quantity, as well as level used in the oven. When cooking a particular food for the first time, we suggest keeping a close eye in order to prevent any burning or undercooking.
When placing on "fast air fry" position, pay close attention as food will crisp up faster.
*Steak (medium rare), 1.5 inch thick
**For foods that may drip, place baking pan on lowest level to help catch excess grease.
BAKE
Use your Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven as a conventional oven by turning the FUNCTION knob to BAKE. Place the baking tray or air rack with food inside the oven.
- If using the air rack: place the baking pan on the lowest level, as there is a chance grease may drip during the cooking process. The baking pan will help catch any grease or crumbs and protect the lower heating elements.
- If using the baking pan to cook, place it on the first or second level
- Place your accessory with your food on the appropriate rack level. Close the doors.
- Select your desired temperature using the temperature dial.
- Turn the timer dial to select your cooking time and begin the cooking process.
- Temperature and time can be adjusted by turning either the temperature or timer dials during the cooking process. Turn clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease.
- Time can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes and temperature from 170°F to 450°F.
- The power light will turn on to indicate the heating elements are turned on.
- If doors are opened during the cooking process, the heating process will be paused, and the power light will turn off. Close the doors to resume cooking.
- The timer will not be paused if the doors are opened so keep this in mind in case you need to add additional minutes to your cycle.
- When baking, allow 10 minutes of preheating at desired temperature before placing your food inside.
- Like in all ovens, more heat is generated in the back of the oven than in the front. For this reason, we recommend rotating your baked goods 180° halfway through the baking time to ensure even results.
- You can do this by directly rotating the baking pan or rack.
- When the cooking time has elapsed, a bell will ring to indicate the end of the cooking process. The heating elements will turn off and unit will return to OFF mode.
- Using oven mitts and the tray handle, carefully take out your food.
TIP: For most foods, other than quick breads and other rising foods, another alternative to bake would be using the convection bake or air frying functions – which use a fan to evenly spread heat – to give faster and more even cooking results. Adjust time (check food 5-10 minutes before the end of the cooking cycle) and temperature (lower temperature by 10-25°F for the same recipe) accordingly when using a function with a fan to make baked goods.
CONVECTION BAKE
Use the Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven as a convection oven for fan-assisted baking. This function is best for achieving better browning when roasting foods like meats and vegetables and cooking pastries that benefit from the added air flow.
- Place the baking pan, basket, or air rack with food inside the oven. For greasier or moist foods that may drip, place baking pan at the bottom level to catch anything that falls.
- Use the function dial to select the convection bake (BAKE with fan icon). Use temperature dial to turn to desired temperature and timer dial to set desired baking time.
Note: convection baking generally takes less time than traditional baking. It is best to reduce time by 25% initially and add more time if needed. You can also reduce the temperature by 10-25°F compared to the original recipe when making it for the first time.
- This function is not recommended for cooking foods that need thorough inner baking like custardy desserts, souffles, cakes, and quick breads, as they may cook faster on the outside than on the inside. For foods like this, use the regular bake function.
CONVECTION TOAST
Use your unit as a convection toaster oven when selecting the convection toast function (TOAST with fan icon). Use it to toast bread, bagels, burger buns, and more!
- Place food on the air rack and slide inside the oven. Make sure the removable crumb tray is in place to ensure you catch all fallout.
- Use function dial to select TOAST.
- Turn temperature dial to desired toasting temperature and then turn the timer dial to preferred time to begin the cooking process.
- Time can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes but may be changed at any time.
- When the timer has elapsed, a bell will ring to indicate the end of the heating process, and unit will return to OFF mode.
PIZZA
Use your oven to cook frozen or fresh pizza to perfection. Setting works for both thin and thick crust pizza.
- Place your pizza (max 12 inches) on the air rack and slide it on the 2 level.
- Turn the function knob and select PIZZA
- Select your desired temperature and time and begin the cooking cycle.
- Rotate the air rack 180 ° midway through the cooking process to ensure even results.
- Check regularly to make sure the cheese is not getting cooked faster than the crust.
- When timer elapses, a bell will ring, and the appliance will turn off.
- Take out the pizza using heat proof gloves.
CONVECTION BROIL
Use your oven as a broiler by using the convection broil function (BROIL with fan icon). Use it to sear steaks and meats, crisp up vegetables and fruits, finish off cheesy dishes, and even to caramelize crème brulées.
- The air rack or baking pan are best for this function.
- Make sure the removable crumb tray is in place before starting to cook.
- Use the function dial to select BROIL.
- Use temperature dial to turn to desired temperature and turn timer dial to select time and to turn the unit on.
- Time can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes but may be changed at any point during the cycle.
- Be careful while convection broiling as food cooks quickly — keep a steady eye to prevent unwanted burning.
- When the timer has elapsed, a bell will ring to indicate the end of the cooking process.
TIP: We suggest broiling at 450°F for a few minutes until food is cooked and desired texture is achieved.
CONVECTION ROAST
Use this function to evenly roast large cuts of meat and poultry and your favorite vegetables. Ideal for whole chickens, turkeys, ham, ribs and hearty vegetables such as beets, carrots, potatoes, brussel sprouts, and more!
- For best results use the baking pan in the first or second level.
- Place the food on the baking pan and slide it in the appropriate rack level.
- Select the ROAST function and adjust temperature to your preference. Turn the timer to desired time when ready to begin the cooking process.
- Turn your food around (when size allows you to) halfway through the cooking process.
- The power of the fan will allow your food to achieve a perfectly brown exterior with a tender and juicy interior.
- When cooking time is up, a bell will ring and the appliance will shut off.
- Using oven mitts and the rack handle pull out your food and enjoy!
Tip: same as for the convection broiling function, make sure to keep an eye on your food to make sure the outside is not getting cooked faster than the inside.
KEEP WARM
Use your Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven to keep your food warm after cooking, using the Keep Warm setting.
- Keep Warm is not a separate function but rather a temperature you can set your oven to, to keep your food warm once you are done cooking.
- Cook under your desired function, temperature, and time.
- When done, if you don't want to eat your food immediately, you can turn the temperature knob to the left until you reach Keep Warm (170°).
- Keep using the function and accessory that you used to cook.
- No need to do anything else! Once timer elapses, simply turn temperature to KEEP WARM and turn the timer knob to the time you wish to keep your food warm for.
- Be sure to not let your food sit under the Keep Warm setting for too long as you run the risk of overcooking it.
When timer elapses and the bell rings, take your food out with oven mitts and enjoy!

Cooking times will vary with different conditions such as size, quantity, initial temperature, and preparation used. The above are meant to serve as basic cooking guidelines to help you get the most out of your Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven. Additional notes for each food are found on the next page. Most recipes, unless otherwise indicated, require either to rotate, flip, or turn food halfway through the cooking process to provide more even results.
*Internal temperatures as recommended by FDA; other doneness standards are indicative only.
**When in doubt, use BAKE at the recommended time and temperature provided by your recipe when baking loaves, pies, cakes, and other larger foods that require thorough internal cooking.
Food | Notes: |
Chicken breast | Place baking pan on the lowest level to catch falling grease and juices. Spray air frying basket with cooking oil before placing breasts. Maximum recommended capacity is 3x 10-oz breasts. Add an additional 1-2 minutes for each additional oz/breast. Remember to flip halfway through the cooking process. |
Chicken tenders | Place baking pan on the lowest level to catch any falling juices or breading. Spray air frying basket with cooking oil before placing tenders. Attempt to have only one layer of chicken tenders at a time. Flip halfway through the cooking process. |
Chicken thighs (bone-in) | Place baking pan on the lowest level to catch falling grease and juices. Maximum recommended capacity is 4 bone-in chicken thighs. Flip halfway through the cooking process. |
Chicken wings (raw) | Place baking pan on the lowest level to catch falling grease and juices. You can move wings up to 4 th level (FAST AIR FRY) for the last few minutes of cooking if planning to glaze and get crispier wings. Max recommended amount is 8 whole wings. |
Fish Pork loin | Spray basket with non-stick cooking spray. Fish should be opaque once cooked through. Place baking pan on the lowest level to catch falling grease and juices. Add an additional 2-3 minutes for each additional oz/pork loin. |
Tofu | Drain thoroughly to ensure crispier results. Flip halfway through cooking time. |
Meatloaf (Beef)** | Recommended to wrap loosely in tinfoil to avoid excessive browning under Air Fry function. For a loaf in a pan: BAKE function recommended. You can cover the pan loosely in tinfoil to avoid excessive browning and uncover in the last 5-10 minutes to help crisp up the top. Recipes will vary. |
Baked potato | MUST poke holes to prevent potato from exploding. Cover outside with a little bit of oil to help skin crisp up. |
Mac and cheese (baked) | Use for finishing off the recipe as in a baked mac and cheese recipe. This is good for adding a nice broil to your mac and cheese and help the cheese melt. For less browning, cover tightly with foil. |
Grilled cheese | Butter outside of the bread and flip halfway through the cooking process. |
Frozen pizza (thin crust) | Rotate the air rack 180° halfway through the cooking process to ensure even cooking. Pizza should be ready when all the cheese is melty, and crust is warm. |
Frozen pizza (thick crust) | Rotate the baking rack 180° halfway through the cooking process to ensure even cooking. Pizza should be ready when all the cheese is melty, and crust is warm. |
Frozen fish sticks | Shake the fish sticks halfway through the cooking process. No preheating necessary. |
Frozen chicken nuggets | Shake the nuggets halfway through the cooking process. No preheating necessary. |
Frozen mozzarella sticks | Shake the mozzarella sticks halfway through the cooking process. Use baking pan to prevent cheese drippings. Careful not to overcook, as it may cause cheese to leak. |
Chocolate chip cookies | Rotate baking pan 180° halfway through the cooking process to ensure even cooking. Turning the pan upside down and placing it on a higher level may help to give the cookies a little more distance from the heating elements and ensure a more uniform heating. |
Cake | Bake until you insert a toothpick and it comes out clean. Different pan materials and sizes will yield different results. Check doneness 5 minutes before the end of the minimum time recommended for your recipe and add time as needed. Preheat oven for 5 minutes. |
Quick bread | Rotate the loaf 180° halfway through cooking. Insert toothpick to check for doneness. Baking times will vary based on size of loaf and type of pan used. Preheat 5 minutes. |
Muffins | Rotate the baking rack 180° halfway through the cooking process. Muffins should be done once an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Preheat 5 minutes. |
Pie | Cover the pie loosely with foil if it starts to brown too much. Air Fry works best for a crispier pie and Bake for a softer pie. Preheat oven for 5 minutes. |

- Unplug the appliance from the outlet and allow it to cool completely.
- Do not immerse the unit in water or wash under running water.
- All accessories, except the sliding crumb tray, are dishwasher safe. All can be washed in hot soapy water.
- Do not use metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials to clean the accessories, as this may damage the non-stick coating. Rinse and dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Inside cleaning
- To remove crumbs, pull out the sliding crumb tray from the air fryer oven, wipe clean, and place back inside.
- Wipe cavity with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry with paper towel. To remove baked on food, pour a little cooking oil on the food and allow to stand for five to ten minutes. This should soften the food and allow it to be removed with absorbent paper toweling or a soft cloth.
- Clean the inside of the glass doors with a damp soapy cloth. If the glass has stubborn stains, open the door and cover the inside of the door with a few damp paper towels. Leave for a few minutes, remove the towels, and wipe the door clean. Never use sharp utensils as scratching may weaken the door and cause it to shatter.
- Never use abrasive products in the cavity. Never immerse the appliance in water and make sure no water or damp penetrates the appliance (except the inner cavity). Make sure no water comes on the oven doors while they are still hot.
Housing cleaning
- Wipe clean with a damp sponge. Wipe dry. Always wait until unit has cooled before cleaning to prevent burns.
- NEVER use steel wool, metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE OVEN IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
ANY OTHER SERVICING SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE.
