SERVICING THE BATTERY
NOTE: Unit comes equipped with a
maintenance-free battery that requires no
regular maintenance except cleaning
terminals.
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals
and related accessories contain lead
and lead compounds, chemicals
known to the State of California to
cause cancer and reproductive harm.
Wash hands after handling.

Battery Removal and Installation
Remove (Figure 20)
NOTE: Tag and mark wires prior to
disconnecting.
1. Remove detent pin and tip seat forward.
2. Disconnect operator presence switch
wires and remove seat from seat retainer
slots.
3. Disconnect negative (–) cable first then
positive (+) cable.
4. Remove battery hold down bracket and
cross brace.
5. Remove battery from unit.
Install (Figure 20)
1. Install battery on unit.
2. Install cross brace and battery hold down
bracket.
3. Connect positive (+) cable first, than
negative (–) cable.
4. Apply petroleum jelly or dielectric grease
to battery cable ends and terminals.
5. Install seat, in seat retainer slots and
connect operator presence switch wires.
6. Put seat down and install detent pin.
