6 Start-up and configuration
The following requirements must be met for
start-up:
− An Ethernet connection to the
TROVIS 6610 CPU Module or
TROVIS 6611-2 Control and Automation
Unit.
− The TROVIS 6616-1 or TROVIS 6616-2
Web Terminal and the TROVIS 6610
CPU module or TROVIS 6611-2 Control
and Automation Unit must be configured
using the same subnet mask.

6.2 Device launcher

Î Connect supply voltage.
The SAMSON start screen appears after approx. 10 seconds. The Launcher starts automati-
cally.
The Setup Wizard appears after approx. 30 seconds on starting for the first time.

Start-up and configuration

6.1 Ethernet connection

Ethernet can either be connected directly to
TROVIS 6610 or TROVIS 6611-2, or alter-
natively, using active components.
− Direct connection:
Using a crossover cable
− Connection over active components
(switch or hub)
Using a 1:1 cable
Refer to the documentation of the relevant
components used for more information.
