RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Ensure that the base with the electrical connections NEVER comes into
contact with water! Ensure that the base is completely dry before use,
especially if it has accidentally become wet.
Use the kettle only with the supplied base.
Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp during operation.
Lay the cable so that it cannot be trapped or otherwise damaged.
To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or cables to be replaced
at once by qualifi ed technicians or our Customer Service Department.
After use, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket. Switching
the appliance off is not suffi cient, because the appliance is under power for
as long as the plug is connected to the power socket.
Before use check the appliance for signs of visible external damage. Do
not put into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.
Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies
or by the Customer Service department. Incompetent repairs can result in
signifi cant risks for the user. In addition warranty claims become void.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
Heat water only with the lid closed, otherwise the automatic switch-off cannot
function. Boiling water could then spray out over the rim.
Hot steam clouds may be released. The kettle also becomes very hot during
use. It is always best to wear oven mitts when handling the kettle.
Ensure that the appliance is stood stably and vertically before switching it
on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to fall over.
This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children)
with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or defi ciences
in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person
responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how
the appliance is to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control system
to operate the appliance.
Never leave the appliance unsupervised whilst in use.
Ensure that the appliance, the power cable and the plug do not come into
contact with hot plates or open fl ames.
