The buttons also allow the operator and service technician to carry out testing and audit functions on the terminal.

    A600-H Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 108 – 28 Rev A Patron Tracking Module Provision Space is provided above the Note, Printer and Coin in Bezels in the door for a Patron Tracking Module to be fitted. The Patron tracking can be mounted on the door or in a tray (preferred). Note: To access this space the Main Door assembly must be open.

    A600-H Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 108 – 28 Rev A Mainboard Assembly Heat Sink and Fans Assembly Mainboard Mainboard Tray Status LEDs Synergy XLR Mainboard Assembly The major circuit boards within the Logic Cage are: Mainboard The Main Board provides the controlling and operating function of the terminal. The Compact Flash Cards and system memory are all fitted to the Main Board and together incorporate the Main Board Assembly.

Exterior Carry out a detailed visual inspection of the exterior of the terminal to verify the following: 1.

However, the hardware to bolt the terminal to a base/console will remain the same.

    3. Power on the Wagering Terminal. 4. The Base and TM CF card will now be checked. 5. As the A560X-S32 Wagering Terminal boots up a blue Ainsworth screen will then appear with either of the following messages: NVRAM & E2PROM Cleared – Reset the Dip Switch 1 and 2 to continue.

    A600-H Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 108 – 28 Rev A System Maintenance / Audit This section below describes how the System Maintenance / Audit Mode can be used to further assess various hardware components and peripherals to determine if they are faulty. This is primarily used by technicians to help them isolate any hardware problems with the Wagering Terminal.

This test has the advantage that inserted notes are returned when the Reject button is selected and not guided to the stacker.

    A600-H Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 108 – 28 Rev A Touchscreen Calibration The Touchscreen Calibrate on the Hardware Tab is used to calibrate the Touchscreen. It is a basic test that requires the user to touch squares on the LCD screen and the squares become highlighted indicating where the user has touched.

The instructions are limited to those that are deemed appropriate to be carried out on-site with minimum disruption to the terminal operation. More advanced information, and a listing of failure and status messages can be found at the end of this chapter.

Even though the 2 x 24” LCD monitors operate at low voltages. Exercise extreme caution when handling the monitors or personal injury may result.

Note Validator Replacement The Note Validator displayed below is a MEI SCNM8347 Note Validator. It is a general guide which is common to most Bill Validators.

    985 108 – 28 Rev A Note Validator Housing Replacement The following procedure explains the process for removing the Note Validator Housing including the MEI frame; however, this process is the same for all Note Validators used in the A600-H Wagering Terminal. Removal: 1.

Next remove the 3 x M5 screws fastening the note validator housing to the base of the terminal. 2 are located on the L/H side of the housing and 1 is located underneath and is accessed via a hole in the bottom of the housing.

    A600-H Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 108 – 28 Rev A Printer Replacement (Optional) A ticket printer is an optional extra. The model of the ticket printer used will also vary according to the market requirements. Illustrated is the Ithaca 950 Ticket printer.
  • Page 76 A600-H Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 108 – 28 Rev A Removal: The Printer simply rests in its printer housing. It has one plug underneath at the back, which only needs to be detached to remove the complete printer unit (with housing).
