The buttons also allow the operator and service technician to carry out testing and audit functions on the terminal.

Housing Note Validator Note Validator The Note Validator receives notes that are entered through the Note Bezel and accepts or rejects notes by testing them.

The Note Validator incorporates an illuminated bezel that indicates to the patron whether the Note Validator can accept notes and a label showing which denominations.

    985 113 – 25 Rev A Printer (Optional) The Printer is an optional device which is fitted to our A640 Wagering Terminal. The Printer is located beside the Logic Cage and the tickets exit through the top of the main door.

    A640 Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 113 – 25 Rev A Player Tracking Module Provision Space is provided above the Note and Printer Bezels in the door for a Player Tracking Module to be fitted. The Player tracking can be mounted on the door or in a tray (preferred).

    Mainboard Tray Status LEDs A640 Wagering Terminal Mainboard Assembly The major circuit boards within the Logic Cage are: Mainboard The Main Board provides the controlling and operating function of the terminal. The CFast Cards and system memory are all fitted to the Main Board and together incorporate the Main Board Assembly.

    985 113 – 25 Rev A A640 Wagering Terminal Mounting Instructions The A640 Wagering Terminal is supplied with an installation kit; some parts in this kit may vary depending on the Jurisdiction the terminal is installed in. However, the hardware to bolt the terminal to a base/console will remain the same.

    A640 Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 113 – 25 Rev A System Maintenance / Audit This section below describes how the System Tests Mode can be used to further assess various hardware components and peripherals to determine if they are faulty. This is primarily used by technicians to help them isolate any hardware problems with the Wagering Terminal.

It is a basic test that requires the user to touch squares on the LCD screen and the squares become highlighted indicating where the user has touched.

Pull the spring steel clip out and push it up to remove the pin fastening the gas strut to the rear of the monitor mask / door assembly as shown below.

Note Validator Replacement The Note Validator displayed below is a MEI SCNM8347 Note Validator. This is a general guide which is common to most Bill Validators.

    985 113 – 25 Rev A Note Validator Housing Replacement The following procedure explains the process for removing the Note Validator Housing including the MEI frame; however, this process is the same for all Note Validators used in the A640 Wagering Terminal. Removal 1.
  • Page 73 A640 Service Manual Pari-Mutuel Wagering Terminal 985 113 – 25 Rev A 7. Next remove the Cashbox Coin Chute by undoing the 2x M5 screws fastening it into place; one screw is accessed via a hole in the bottom of the note validator housing the other from outside the housing.

Next remove the 3x M5 screws fastening the note validator housing to the base of the terminal. 2 M5 screws are located on the L/H side of the housing and 1 M5 screw is located underneath and is accessed via a hole in the bottom of the housing.

    The Player Tracking Module is a draw design and it can be assembled on a bench prior to installation into the terminal, then proceed as follows: 1. Once the components are fastened to the draw insert the draw into the A640 Wagering Terminal. 2. Fasten the front thumb screw locking the PTM into place.

    985 113 – 25 Rev A Power Supply Replacement The A640 Wagering Terminal uses an integrated Universal Power Supply. The power supply is mounted below the Printer and Logic Cage assemblies and is at the rear of the Wagering Terminal.
