RECEIVING A MESSAGE

When your radio receives a message:
• You hear two alert tones.
• The LED indicator flashes yellow.
• The LCD screen programmed by your
dealer displays:
alternating with the preprogrammed alias.

Msg Received
If you receive a message that is not pro-
grammed into your radio, the display alter-
nates with the following:
Msg #_
and
No Alias
SENDING AN EMERGENCY ALERT E
Emergency Alert can be programmed on the
orange top button by your dealer. This feature
allows you to send a priority Emergency Alert
to a specific radio or dispatch center.
Note:
Emergency Alert has priority over all other
calls in conventional mode. In LTR mode,
the emergency alert is sent if the system is
available.
The E symbol appears on the LCD screen
when your radio is in the Emergency Alert state.
An Emergency Alert can be programmed to do
one of the following:
• show E and sound a tone
–or–
• show E (silent Emergency)
–or–
• activate the microphone so that all activity
can be transmitted (for a programmed
amount of time).
To activate the Emergency Alert, press the
Emergency button.
To cancel the Emergency Alert, press and
hold down the Emergency button.
