WARNING:
To prevent accidental starting that could cause serious
personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the
product when assembling parts.
TOOLS NEEDED
See Figure 2.
The following tool (not included or drawn to scale) is needed
for assembly:
 Phillips screwdriver
FRONT HANDLE
See Figure 3.
 Loosen and remove the wing nut and bolt from the handle.
 Install the handle on the upper shaft at the location indi-
cated by the label on the shaft.
 Adjust handle up or down, if necessary, to desired operat-
ing position.
 Reinstall the bolt and wing nut. Tighten wing nut to secure.
CONNECTING THE POWER HEAD SHAFT
AND TRIMMER SHAFT
See Figure 4.
 Align the two indentations in the lower shaft with the
screws in the upper shaft. Insert the lower shaft into the
upper shaft.
 Push the two sections together until the lower shaft stops.
CAUTION:
Be careful when sliding the two shafts together to avoid
pinching your hands or fingers.
 Using a Phillips head screwdriver, turn each of the two
screws until securely tightened.
ASSEMBLY
WARNING:
Be certain the shafts are locked into place before operat-
ing lawn trimmer; check it periodically for tightness dur-
ing use to avoid possible disconnection of shafts, which
could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
This lawn trimmer is designed to use only the provided
trimmer shaft and string head. It is not capable of using
other attachments or cutting heads. Attempting to use
other attachments or cutting heads could result in seri-
ous personal injury.
ATTACHING GRASS DEFLECTOR
See Figure 5.
WARNING:
The line cut-off blade on the grass deflector is sharp.
Avoid contact with the blade. Failure to avoid contact
can result in serious personal injury.
NOTICE:
Failure to attach the grass deflector prevents the line
being cut to the proper length and can cause tool failure.
 Fit the tabs of the trimmer head into the grass deflector
slots, inserting the front tab first as shown.
 Next, push the back of the grass deflector down until the
back tab snaps into the back deflector slot.
NOTE: The grass deflector should be secured and should
not be able to move out of place.
