Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the access panel

In models with a hard drive, remove the hard drive

When replacing the system board, make sure the following components are removed from the defective
system board and installed on the replacement system board (as applicable):
Memory modules
M.2 solid-state drive
WLAN module

To remove the system board:

On models with a hard drive, disconnect the speaker cable from the system board (1), and then
remove the three Torx T15 screws (2) that secure the system board to the computer.
