This section describes how to maintain the IntelliChlor chlorination system

Daily service

1. pH Level Test: Test the pH level of your pool with a test kit. The pH should be between 7.2 and
7.8. If necessary, adjust within this range.
Note: Never use dry acid to adjust pH in arid geographic areas with excessive evaporation and
minimal dilution of pool water with fresh water. A buildup of byproducts can damage the
electrolytic cell.
Check the expiry date of the water parameters test kit, as test results may be inaccurate if use after
that date.
2. Total Alkalinity Test: Test pool water for total alkalinity with a test kit. The total alkalinity
should be between 100 and 120 ppm. If necessary, adjust within this range.

WEEKLY SERVICE

1. Chlorine Test: Test pool water chlorine level with a reliable test kit. Maintain ideal range by
adjusting IntelliChlor chlorine production rate. See "Buttons," on page 6.
Chlorine is 1-3 PPM.
Note: Above 3.0 PPM of chlorine may cause corrosion of pool metals and possibly cause damage
to associated pool equipment.
Note: It is recommended that chlorine test samples be taken from two places, one at the pool
return line, the other well away from the pool return line. Compare the samples. A higher level
should be found at the pool return line. The higher level at the pool return line indicates
IntelliChlor is producing chlorine.
