Always use the center of the laser point for marking.
The size of the laser point changes with the distance.
To measure grades, align the anglefinder/digital level so
that the laser beam runs along the surface you want to
measure. To transfer grades, align the anglefinder/digital
level so that the required grade is displayed as the mea-
suring value n and mark the grade on the target surface
with the help of the laser point.
Note: When transferring grades via laser, take into consid-
eration that the laser comes out 1.2" above the bottom
edge of the anglefinder/digital level.
Accuracy Check and Calibration
of the Anglefinder/digital level
Checking the Measuring Accuracy
Check the accuracy of the anglefinder/digital level prior
to critical measurements, after intense variations in tem-
perature as well as after heavy impact.
Before measuring angles <45°, the accuracy check should
take place on a level and horizontal surface; before mea-
suring angles >45°, on a level and vertical surface.
Switch the anglefinder/digital level on and place it on the
horizontal or vertical surface.
Select the unit of measure "°" (see "Changing the Unit of
Measure").
Wait for 10s and write down the measured value.
Rotate the anglefinder/digital level by 180° around its ver-
tical axis. Wait again for 10s and write down the second
measured value.
Calibrate the anglefinder/digital level only when the
difference between both reading values is greater than
0.1°.
Calibrate the anglefinder/digital level in the position (ver-
tical or horizontal), in which the difference of the mea-
sured values has been determined.
The calibration can be performed only with the bottom
side.
Calibration for Horizontal Surfaces (see figure I)
The horizontal surface used to calibrate the tool cannot
slope more than 5°. If the slope is greater than 5°, the
calibration is discontinued with and "---" will display.
j Switch the anglefinder/digital level on and position it
on the horizontal surface so that the spirit level 9 faces
upward and the display 7 faces you. Wait for 10 s.
k Then press the "Cal" calibration button 20 for approx.
2 seconds until "CAL1" appears on the display. Then
the measuring value will flash on the display.
l Turn the anglefinder/digital level 180° around the verti-
cal axis so that the spirit level still faces upward, but
the display 7 faces away from you. Wait for 10 s.
m Then press the calibration button "Cal" 20 again.
"CAL2" is indicated in the display. Afterwards, the
measuring value appears in the display (no longer
flashing). The anglefinder/digital level is now re-cali-
brated for this surface.
Note: If during step l the anglefinder/digital level is not
turned around the axis illustrated in the figure, the cali-
bration cannot be completed ("CAL2" does not appear
on the display).
Calibration for Vertical Surfaces (see figure J)
The vertical surface used to calibrate the tool cannot
slope more than 5°. If the slope is greater than 5°, the
calibration is discontinued and "---" will display.
j Switch the anglefinder/digital level on and position it
on the vertical surface so that the spirit level 10 faces
upward and the display 7 faces you.
