"4. BVL": Calculating the Bevel Angle
BVL
Press button 16 again. "BVL " and the calculated bevel
angle for the chop and miter saw is indicated on the dis-
play.
If required, the miter and bevel angle can be recalled
again, but only as long as button 15 for changing the op-
erating mode has not been pressed. Press button 16 to
recall the angles. "MTR" and the calculated miter angle
are indicated in the display; after pressing the button 16
once more, "BVL" and the bevel angle will be indicated.
Press button 15 to return from the "Compound Miter"
operating mode to the "Angle Measurement" operating
mode.
Note: The calculated miter angle "MTR" can only be tak-
en over for chop and miter saws, for which the setting for
vertical cuts is 0°. When the setting for vertical cuts is
90°, the angle for the saw must be calculated as follows:
90° – indicated "MTR" angle = angle to be set on the saw.
Grade Measurement Operating Mode
Switching the Laser On and Off
Press the On/Off button 18 to switch the laser on and off.
Do not point the laser beam at persons or animals and
do not look into the laser beam yourself, not even from
a large distance.
Do not leave the anglefinder/digital level unsupervised
with the laser switched on, and switch the laser off after
use. Other persons could be blinded by the laser beam.
When not using the laser, switch it off in order to save
energy.
Changing the Unit of Measure (see figure B)
You can change between the units of measure "°", "%"
and "IN/FT" at any time. For this, press the button for
changing the unit of measure 20 as often as required until
the desired setting is displayed in indicator k/m. The cur-
rent measuring value is automatically converted.
The unit-of-measure setting is retained when switching
the anglefinder/digital level on or off.
Switching the Audio Signal On/Off
The audio signal can be switched on/off with the audio
signal button 19. When the audio signal is switched on,
indicator o appears in the display.
The signal tone setting is maintained after switching the
anglefinder/digital level off and on again.
Measured-value Indication and Alignment Aids
(see figure F)
The measurement on the digital level changes with the
movement of the tool. The display will stop on the mea-
surement once your digital level is stationary on the de-
sired position.
The measurement on the display will rotate 180 degrees
with the digital level, so the display can be read for over-
head work.
The digital level uses arrows on the display to show which
direction it has to be tilted in order to reach the target
value. In standard measurements the target value is the
horizontal or vertical.
When the target value is reached, the arrows disappear
and a continuous audio signal sounds when the audio sig-
nal is switched on.
Contact-free Measuring/Transferring of Grades
With the laser, it is possible to measure and transfer
grades contact-free, even over greater distances.
Do not point the laser beam at persons or animals and
do not look into the laser beam yourself, not even from
a large distance.
