IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Read instructions carefully before installation and operation. Keep instruc-
tions for future reference and hand them over to any new user.
Safety
• VELUX electric glass rooflight CVU can be in-
stalled by for instance a carpenter, but the elec-
trical connection to the mains supply, via a fused
or switched power outlet, must be performed by
a qualified electrician and comply with current
national regulations.
• Do not connect the glass rooflight to the mains
supply before the glass rooflight has been com-
pletely installed in accordance with the instruc-
tions.
• The glass rooflight can be used by persons (aged
8 years and above) with sufficient experience and
knowledge if they have been given instruction
concerning safe use and understand the hazards
involved. Cleaning and user maintenance must not
be done by unsupervised children.
• Children must not play with the glass rooflight or
the wall switch.
• It is recommended to place the wall switch in the
room where the glass rooflight and its electrical
products have been installed.
• If mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by
qualified personnel in accordance with national
regulations.
• Do not operate the glass rooflight if repair or
adjustment is necessary.
• Disconnect mains supply before carrying out any
maintenance or service work and ensure that it
cannot be reconnected unintentionally.
• For personal safety, never have your hand or body
out of the glass rooflight without switching off
the power.
• If the rain sensor gets wet, the glass rooflight
automatically closes.
• Installation in rooms with a high level of humidity
and with hidden wiring must comply with current
national regulations (contact a qualified electri-
cian if necessary).
Product
• The glass rooflight has been designed for use with genuine VELUX prod-
ucts. Connection to other products may cause damage or malfunction.
• The glass rooflight cannot be manually operated.
• To prevent the glass rooflight from closing because of very fine/weak
rain, fog or dew, the rain sensor is equipped with a heating element to
keep the surface dry.
• From fully open, it will take up to one minute from the time of activation
before the glass rooflight is completely closed. Therefore, in case of sud-
den rain, water may enter the room before the glass rooflight is closed.
• In case of snow and/or ice, the operation of the glass rooflight may be
blocked.

amount of maintenance.
• Maintenance and installation must be carried out in consideration to
Health and Safety at Work requirements.

The product, including batteries if any, is regarded as electrical and
electronic equipment and contains hazardous materials, components
and substances. The crossed out wheeled bin symbolises that electrical
and electronic equipment waste must not be disposed of together with
household waste. It must be collected separately at recycling stations or
other collection sites or retrieved directly from households to increase the
possibilities of recycling, reuse and utilisation of electrical and electronic
equipment waste. By sorting electrical and electronic equipment waste
with this symbol, you contribute to reducing the volume of incinerated or
buried waste and to reducing any negative impact on human health and
the environment. Further information can be obtained from the local mu-
nicipality's technical administration or from your VELUX sales company.
• If batteries can be removed, product and batteries must be disposed of
separately.
