You can connect the Sennheiser RS 175 to a TV using either a digital optical audio cable or an analog 3.5mm audio jack.
1. Using an Optical Cable (Digital Connection) - Connect the optical cable to the TV’s optical audio output. - Plug the other end into the base station’s optical input. - Set the switch on the base station to the optical position (upper position). - Check your TV’s audio settings and set the optical output to "Stereo" or "PCM." - Turn on the headphones. The transmitter LED should light up green if the connection is correct.
2. Using a 3.5mm Aux Cable (Analog Connection) - Connect one end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the TV’s headphone or audio output. - Plug the other end into the base station’s aux input. - Flip the switch on the base station to the analog position. - Adjust the TV’s volume to at least a medium level.
3. Using RCA (Analog Connection) - Use an RCA adapter with the stereo audio cable. - Connect the 3.5mm jack to the base station. - Plug the RCA connectors into the TV’s "AUDIO OUT" (match red and white plugs).
In some cases, you may need to adjust the TV’s audio output settings. If sound is directed to the headphones, the TV’s internal speakers or soundbar may not work simultaneously.
