5. The Gemflash program automatically waits for the printer to restart and the download
process automatically proceeds. When the process is complete, the printer restarts.
Updating Prism AutoPrinter Using ParFlash
ParFlash works with Windows '98, NT, and 2000.
1. Copy the Parflash.exe program to the root of the C: drive.
2. Copy the latest flash file to the root of the C: drive.
3. Open the print drawer by pressing the operator button.
4. Place a disc on the printer drawer to prevent a "paper out" error from occurring.
5. If using Windows NT or 2000, change the Prism print driver port setting to something
other than the LPT port.
6. Select the Run command from the Windows Start button.
7. Type 'parflash <flashfile> LPTx", where x is the parallel port number. The <flashfile> is
the name of the file containing the binary file. Here is an example:
parflash Bmaps.bin LPT1
8. Change the port setting back to original setting.
9. After entering the parflash command, wait for the printer to restart and the fault light to
go off. Then you can press any key to begin the downloading of the program data. When
the process is complete, the printer restarts.
GemFlash Procedure
The ParFlash utility uses the parallel cable.
1. Copy the Gemflash.exe program to the root of the C: drive.
2. Copy the latest flash file to the root of the C: drive.
3. Select the Run command from the Windows Start button.
4. Type 'Gemflash <flashfile> COMx', where the 'x' is the COM port number. The
<flashfile> is the name of the file containing the binary file. Here is an example:
Gemflash Bmaps.bin COM1
