• Automatic self-test: guarantees a specified measuring accuracy for each temperature reading! «ERR»‑(error) is immediately indicated if
any deviation is registered.
• Temperature measurement within 60‑90 seconds depending on measuring method used.
• Digital display for temperature changes as minor as 0.1°C / 0.1°F.
• Automatic switch off: after approximately 10 minutes – for longer battery life.
• Battery: Silver oxide high drain. (Non disposable)
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of body temperature.
• The battery cover is sonic‑welded with the main housing of the thermometer; the battery is well sealed inside the thermometer to reduce
the risk of being swallowed by children.
• Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking.
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C / 140°F. NEVER boil the thermometer!
• Use only the commercial disinfectants listed in the section «cleaning and disinfecting» to clean the thermometer. The thermometer must
be intact when immersed in liquid disinfectant.

HOW TO TAKE A TEMPERATURE
1. Select Oral, Axillary (Underarm) or Rectal as your measurement site based on each individual. Clean thermometer with soap and water
prior to use.
2. Push the On/Off button on the top of the thermometer; the display will read:
thermometer is working properly.
NOTE: If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccuracy), this is indicated by "ERR" on the display, and a measurement becomes
impossible. In this case, the thermometer must be replaced.
3. After the function check, a temperature measurement will appear if there is a reading in the memory. Immediately after "L°C" with the
°C/°F flashing and the "M" gone, will indicate that the thermometer is ready for use.
4. While taking a temperature, the °C/°F flashes as long as the temperature increases. If the °C/°F is no longer flashing, this means that
the measured increase in temperature is now less than 0.1°C / 0.2°F in 16 seconds and that the thermometer is ready to read.
NOTE: The display will read "L" if the measurement taken is below 32.0°C / 89.6°F. It will display "H" if the measurement is above
43.9°C / 111°F.
5. To prolong the life of the battery, turn the thermometer off after each use by pressing the On/Off button briefly, otherwise the
thermometer will turn off after about 10 minutes.
SWITCHING °C / °F
With the thermometer turned off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for around 4 seconds until «C» or «F» flashes. Now press the ON/OFF
button to switch between °C/°F. Release button when the desired indicator is chosen and wait till measurement mode. The thermometer is
set to your selection for future use.
MEASURING METHODS
Oral
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or right of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor
must be in good contact with the tissue. Close your mouth and breath evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement from being
influenced by inhaled/exhaled air.
Approximate measuring time: 1 minute.
Rectal
This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appropriate for infants and small children. Lubricate the thermometer with
a water‑soluble personal lubricant or petroleum jelly. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer no more than 1/2 inch or 1.3 cm into the
rectum.
Do not force the tip into the rectum if resistance is encountered.
Approximate measuring time: 1 minute.
Axillary (Underarm)
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and should not be used if precise measurements are
required.
Approximate measuring time: 5 to 10 minutes.
MEMORY RECALL
When turning on the thermometer, the last measurement will be displayed with a «M» for memory. After 3 more seconds, this value will
disappear and the thermometer will switch to the normal measurement mode. Then the stored value is erased.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
The thermometer is 100% waterproof and may be immersed in water or disinfectant solution,
then wipe it off with a moist towel. Please use following disinfectant for cleaning, following the manu facturer's instructions. Clean the
thermometer before and after each use.
