Thank you for purchasing the Be Better™ Jumbo Flex Digital Thermometer. To correctly utilize all the advantages of this
product, please familiarize yourself with these operating instructions before using the thermometer for the first time. Keep
the instructions in a safe place for future reference.
FEATURES:
• Memory: The last reading is automatically displayed for 2 seconds when the unit is switched ON. Up to 9 sets of
memory can be stored.
• High Temperature Indication: Rapid beeps and a red backlight alert the patient that he/she may have a temperature
above 37.6°C / 99.7°F.
• °C / °F switchable
• Measurement time: 8 seconds
SAFETY INFORMATION:
• High, prolonged fever requires medical attention, especially for young children. Please contact your physician should this occur.
• This thermometer contains small pieces that can pose a choking hazard. Do not allow children to take their own
temperatures unattended.
• Keep battery away from children, harmful if swallowed.
• Do not open the thermometer except to replace the battery.
• To avoid damage to the probe, do not bend beyond a 45° angle.

HOW TO TAKE A TEMPERATURE:
1. Select Oral, Axillary (underarm) or Rectal as your measurement site based on each individual. Clean thermometer with soap
and water prior to use.
2. Push the operating button located on the top of the thermometer. The thermometer will beep and the
display will read: as illustrated in Figure 1. This is a function check indicating that the unit is working
properly. Immediately after, "Last memory" and the temperature will be displayed, then "---" with the
°C / °F flashing will indicate the thermometer is ready to use, as illustrated in Figure 2.
NOTE: Wait for the "°C" to flash 3 times before taking a measurement. The thermometer will
beep twice indicating the thermometer is starting to measure.
3. While taking a temperature, the °C / °F symbol flashes as long as the temperature increases.
4. The thermometer will beep three times, indicating that the peak temperature has been reached,
right after the beep is heard the screen will light up green if the temperature is below 37.6°C/99.7°F.
If the temperature is 37.6°C / 99.7°F and above, rapid beeps will sound and the screen will light up
red indicating a fever.
NOTE: The LCD will display "
display "HI°C" if the measurement is above 42.9°C / 109.2°F.
5. To prolong the life of the battery, turn the thermometer off after each use by pressing the operating
button briefly, otherwise the unit will turn off automatically in approximately 3 minutes.
NOTE: For best results, wait 3 minutes between temperature measurements.
6. To switch the thermometer from °C to °F . Press and hold the operating button when the thermometer is turned off,
once "
" is displayed with the °C or °F not flashing, press the operating button again to toggle between °C and °F.

ORAL USE:
• Do not drink hot or cold fluids, exercise, smoke or perform other activities prior to a measurement that will raise or lower
temperature readings when compared to your normal average temperature. The mouth should remain closed for up to 5
minutes before attempting a reading.
• Place the probe tip well under the tongue and wait until a beep is heard. Instruct children not to bite down on the probe.
AXILLARY (UNDERARM) USE:
• Wipe arm with a dry towel.
• Place the probe tip in the hollow of the armpit and bring arm down against the body and wait until 3 beeps are heard.
RECTAL USE:
• Commonly used for babies, young children or when it is difficult to take an oral or underarm temperature.
• Lubricate the thermometer with a water-soluble personal lubricant or petroleum jelly.
• Gently insert the probe tip no more than 0.5 inch or 1.3cm into the rectum, and wait until a beep is heard.
DO NOT FORCE THE TIP INTO THE RECTUM IF RESISTANCE IS ENCOUNTERED.
MEMORY RECALL:
This thermometer recalls the last 9 temperatures. To obtain this information, press the power button to turn the
thermometer on. When screen displays the last temperature taken, press the power button again to enter into memory
recall. Keep pressing the button to view last 9 memories.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING:
Before and after each use, clean the thermometer with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Disinfect using a cotton ball
moistened with alcohol. Never immerse in hot water or in harsh cleaning solutions.
CHANGING THE BATTERY:
When the
appears on the display during a measurement, the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. Remove the
battery compartment located on the back of the thermometer, use a coin or flat head screwdriver to open. Discard the old
battery and insert a new equivalent battery (CR2032, 3V). Ensure the battery is correctly positioned with the "+" facing up
or towards the back of the unit. Replace battery compartment lid.
