    M038170_V1.5_View-R/11-2021 Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION AND INSTALLATION ABOUT THE VIEW-R WTC's View-R lets you remotely view, monitor and modify the programmable data that a WTC weld control stores and produces. Most functions in the View-R operate through a standard Web browser.

    COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE VIEW-R OVER THE ETHERNET ARE POSSIBLE. For the LAN network, you MUST use a WTC DEP (Data Entry Panel 105/300s/600) or the robot teach pendant on integrated controls, to program a unique address in each WCU that will be on the same LAN channel.
  • Page 9 SETTING THE PLANT ETHERNET AND VIEW-R CONNECTIONS: The cable connection originates at the EtherNet connector at the back of the View-R unit. This cable connects to the EtherNet switch on the plant EtherNet. The laptop or computer terminal that will be used to access and program the View-R should also be connected to the plant EtherNet.

    CONFIGURATION OF THE VIEW-R CONFIGURATION REQUIREMENTS The View-R comes with a preset IP address. The user provides the power and links to the View-R via web browser login. The device has the capability to load all its configuration settings from a saved file.
  • Page 12 The new configuration takes about 60 sec. (1 min.) to download and complete after which the View-R will reboot. 6. In order to add the View-R on the Plant Network, wait for the device to reboot, then disconnect the network cable from the laptop and connect to the Plant EtherNet Network.

    2. Connect a monitor using one of the mini-display ports on the View-R. 3. Plug in the power adapter for the View-R. 4. As the View-R powers up, you will see a login prompt on the monitor. 5. Type - “ipinfo” and press Enter. This will display the current settings.

  • Page 18 This list is available under the “Unmanaged” section of the Management screen. Every 60 sec. the View-R performs an automatic scan to update this list of timers on the plant network. Here you can select a maximum of 48 timers that will be managed by the View-R.

    THE TIME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NTP SERVER AND THE VIEW-R'S CURRENT TIME MUST BE LESS THAN 1000 SECONDS (ABOUT 16 MINUTES).  THE USER MAY NEED TO FIRST MANUALLY EDIT THE VIEW-R’S TIME BEFORE ATTEMPTING NTP SYNC. The arrangement for the date and time must match the shown format.

This page is divided into 4 four panes as described below: • The “License Status” pane displays the current status of the available features on the View-R.
