Before removing or applying the liquid metal, make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.
"Remove the lower case" on page 28
"Remove the solid-state drive (SSD) plate (L or R)" on page 29
"Remove the solid-state drive (SSD)" on page 30
"Remove the battery pack " on page 32
"Remove the thermal module" on page 37
Attention:
Be sure to wear the antistatic gloves for protecting you and your computer.
The sponge should be replaced only when it is stained or damaged.
Liquid metal is electrically conductive. Make sure the liquid metal only be applied on the CPU die surface
within the sponge. Clean the liquid metal immediately when it was accidentally spilled on the system
board.
Liquid metal should only be applied to CPU. Do not use it on GPU or any other components.
Liquid metal service tools
The following table lists tools for removing or applying the liquid metal. These tools are provided in a liquid
metal service kit. Prepare them when the liquid metal needs to be removed or applied.
