Overview

Overview

  • Because of high current level when charging, batteries with a lower capacity than shown in the tableshould not be used.
  • Only use quick-charge NiCD/NiMH batteries.
  • A precise, process-controlled -ΔU shutoff for each charging slot ensures that each battery is charged • An additional safety timer shuts off the charger if the maximum charging time is exceeded. to its optimal level. It also prevents the batteries from overcharging.
  • 1, 2, 3 or 4 batteries can be charged either individually or together. Different sizes (AA/AAA) and types(NiCd/NiMH) can be combined. The charging current is adjusted accordingly.

Charging

Insert the batteries in the correct direction.
Each of the 4 charging compartments is monitored separately. The charging status of the battery before charging is unimportant. Once the batteries are inserted, charging begins automatically. After charging is finished, the charger automatically switches each compartment separately to trickle charge. Batteries can stay in the charger and remain ready for use.

Indicator

When more than one battery is in the charger, the LED does not indicate that charging is complete until the last battery is fully charged.
Red: charging
Green: charged, trickle charge
Flashing red: One or more batteries are defect.
Remove all batteries. Insert them individually and wait up to 10 seconds.
If the LED flashes: the battery is defect - dispose of it. Repeat test with next battery.

Battery directions

  • The included batteries must be charged before they are used for the first time. Remove any isolating strips between the batteries and charger.
  • Rechargeable batteries only attain maximum charging capacity once they have been charged/disch-arged several times over.
  • Only charge batteries when they are empty so as to increase their lifespan.
  • Totally discharging the batteries should be avoided. Do not completely discharge the batteries inflashlights, watches or fire alarms or else they will be permanently damaged.
  • Batteries discharge by themselves. The rate of discharge is faster the warmer the ambient temperature is. Store batteries at 2 to 8 degrees (in a refrigerator, for example).
  • Unusable batteries belong in the proper collecting bin of a store or of the community, and not in hou-sehold waste!
