- Page 6 IMPORTANT: Remove orange lift rod retainer (1) prior to spout installation. To remove retainer, hold spout (2) firmly over flat surface and pull up on lift rod (3). The orange retainer should drop from bottom of spout. Properly dispose of retainer. Remove divert- er assembly (4) from rough-in (5).
