3. Encoding Mode
Encoding
This mode allows you to receive audio signals from an external audio device through the line-in jack and
encode them directly into an MP3 format.

In Browser mode, connect one end of the line-in cable to the earphone jack or line out of your
audio player. Connect the other end to the line-in jack on the RipDrive.
While playing the track you want to convert to an MP3 file, press the Rec button.

The recording and remaining times will appear on the LCD screen. If the Rec button is pressed

again, recording will pause.
When Encoding is finished, press the Stop button to put the RipDrive in Wait. Press the Stop

button again to save the encoded file in the ENCODE folder.

The file will now show in the contents of that folder.
Press the Play/Pause button to play the file.

Voice Recording
This feature enables you to record voice memos. Use the built-in microphone to record a voice memo.
The procedure for recording a voice memo is the same as that of encoding to an MP3 format, except for the
line-in connection.
In Browser mode, when the RipDrive is not playing, press and hold the Rec button to start a

recording.
To stop recording, press the Stop button. The RipDrive will now show Wait on its LCD screen.

Press the Stop button again to save the file to the VOICE RECORD folder.

The file will now show the contents of that folder.
Press the Play/Pause button to play the file.

Note:
To pause a recording press Rec. To resume a recording (from pause) press the Play/Pause button.
