3 Target groups

The electrical power supply must be connected by a qualified electrician who has demonstrated skill and
knowledge related to the construction and operation of electrical equipment and installations and has re-
ceived safety training to identify and avoid the hazards involved.
The mechanical installation must be executed by a qualified person who is familiar with the construction
and operation of the equipment and the hazards involved.

4 Safety instructions

WARNING! Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.
• Repair of the appliance may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the risks
involved and the relevant regulations. Inadequate repairs may cause serious hazards. For repair ser-
vice, contact the service center in your country (see dometic.com/dealer).
• The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national electrical and mechanical installation
regulations.
• Electrical appliances are not toys. Keep electrical appliances out of reach of children or infirm
persons. Do not allow them to use electrical appliances without supervision.
• Persons whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities or whose lack of experience and knowledge
prevent them from using the appliance safely should not use it without supervision or instruction by
a responsible person.
• Do not undo the upper cover of the appliance in the event of a fire. Use approved extinguishing
agents. Do not use water to extinguish fires.
• The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating open flames (for example an
operating gas appliance) and ignition sources (for example an operating electric heater).
• The appliance shall be stored horizontally at a dry, ventilated and covered location.
• Ensure that the working area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into
the system or conducting any hot work. A degree of ventilation shall continue during the period that
the work is carried out. The ventilation should safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably
expel it externally into the atmosphere.
• Under no circumstances shall potential source of ignition be used in the searching for or detection
of refrigerant leaks. A halide torch or any other detector using naked flame shall not be used. Elec-
tronic leak detector or leak detection fluids (eg. Bubble method, fluorescent method agents) can
be used to detect refrigerant leaks. If a leak is suspected, all naked flames shall be removed/extin-
guished. If a leakage of refrigerant is found which requires brazing, all of the refrigerant shall be re-
covered from the system or isolated in a part of the system remote from the leak.
• Do not pierce or burn the appliance.
• Be aware that refrigerants may not contain an odor.
• The roof air conditioner shall be installed in a vehicle with a floor area larger than 4 m².
