CAUTION: If the product is put with the
air filter down, the engine can become
damaged.
4. Remove the blade bolt, the lock washer and the hard
washer.
5. Remove the mulch plug.
6. Remove the belt cover.
Problem
The engine does not start.

Troubleshooting

Possible cause
The ignition cable is not connec-
ted correctly.
The fuel tank is empty.
There is dirt in the carburetor or
fuel line.
The spark plug is defective.
7. Disconnect the cable from the transmission and
remove the idler pulley from the idler assembly.
8. Remove the drive belt from the blade adapter.
9. Install a new drive belt in the opposite sequence.
10. Operate the product to make sure that the drive belt
is correctly installed and adjusted.
Solution
Connect the ignition cable to the spark plug.
Fill the fuel tank with correct fuel type.
Clean the carburetor and/or fuel line.
Adjust the electrode gap, clean or replace
the spark plug.
