CAUTION! READ THIS BEFORE DRAINING: To prevent dam-
age to the spas components, turn off power to the spa at the circuit
breaker before draining it. Do not turn the power back on until your
spa has been refilled.
CAUTION: There are certain precautions to keep in mind when
draining your spa. If it is extremely cold, and the spa is out-
doors, freezing could occur in the lines or the equipment (see
"WINTERIZING," page 56). On the other hand, if it is hot out-
doors, do not leave the spa's surface exposed to direct sunlight.
Draining Procedures:
1. Turn off power to hot tub at the breaker.
2. J445 - Locate the front panel's trim pieces, Figure 13.2a. Starting at
one side, gently pull the panel to release it from the mounting clips.
J435 - Press the retractable push button to release the panel door
from the spa frame, Figure 13.2b.
3. Slowly and gently tilt the panel forward and then lift up to remove.
This will expose the equipment bay for easy access to the
components, Figures 13.2c and 13.2d. Remove the foam boards
covering the equipment bay (J445 only). Place the panel and foam
boards (J445 only) in a safe location to prevent from damaging them.
4. Locate one of the two drains that you would like to use, Figure 13.2e
and 13.2f. Either the Quick Drain (A) or the 3/4" drain valve (B).
Once you choose a draining method, follow the procedures for that
method.
5. Refer to "Hot Tub Fill Up Procedure" (page 18) for recommended
filling instructions.
