Preparing the Machine
No Parts Required
Procedure
1.
Park the machine on a level surface.
2.
Engage the parking brake.
3.
Raise the grinder and support it using
jackstands.
4.
Shut off the engine and remove the key.
5.
Allow the engine to cool completely.
WARNING
Contact with hot surfaces may cause
personal injury.
Keep your hands, feet, face, clothing and
other body parts away the muffler and
other hot surfaces.

Replacing the Muffler
Guard
Parts needed for this procedure:

Muffler guard
2
Bolt (5/16 x 2-1/2 inches)
2
Locknut (5/16 inch)
Procedure
1.
Remove and discard the existing muffler guard
and fasteners
(Figure
Important:
Ensure that you do not damage
the fuel line as you remove the guard.

Install the new muffler guard using 2 bolts (5/16
x 2-1/2 inches) and 2 nuts (5/16 inch) in the rear
holes
(Figure
