Operating the Throttle

You can move the throttle control between the F
and S positions (Figure

Always use the F position when engaging the PTO.

Operating the Choke

Use the choke to start a cold engine.
1. Push the throttle/choke control past the F
position detent and into the C
engage the choke before using the key switch.

2. Move the control out of the C
to disengage the choke after the engine has
started.

Starting the Engine

Important:
Do not engage the starter for more
than 5 seconds at a time. Engaging the starter
motor for more than 5 seconds can damage the
starter motor. If the engine fails to start, wait 1
minute before operating the engine starter again.
Note:
It may be necessary to hold the lever against
the stop, in the choke position, while trying to start the
engine (Figure 23).
