- Sudden braking can cause a towed load to swerve and upset.
Transporting people
- Transport people inside the tractor only if there is an appropriate passenger seat.
Maintenance
- Understand maintenance procedure before doing any maintenance work. Use proper
tools and equipment.
- Work in a clean and dry area.
- Lower the appliance completely to the ground, put tractor in park, turn off tractor engine
and remove the ignition key before performing maintenance.
- Allow appliance to cool completely.
- Do not grease or oil appliance while it is in operation.
- Inspect all parts. Make sure parts are in good condition and installed properly.
- Remove all tools, machines and parts from appliance before operation.
- Remove build-up of grease, oil or debris.
Prepare for emergencies
- Be prepared if a fire starts.
- Keep a first aid kit and fire extinguisher handy.
- Save useful emergency numbers to your phone.

Protective equipment

- Protective clothing, equipment and shoes should be worn.
- Wear clothing and equipment appropriate for the job. Avoid loose fitting clothing.
- Prolonged exposure to loud noise can cause hearing impairment or hearing loss. Wear
suitable hearing protection such as earmuffs or earplugs.
- Operating equipment safely requires the full attention of the operator. Avoid wearing radio
headphones while operating machinery.
High pressure fluids
- Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury.
- Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines.
- Use a piece of paper or cardboard, not hand nor body parts, to check for suspected leaks.
Wear protective gloves and safety glasses or goggles when working with hydraulic systems.
- If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be
treated within a few hours or gangrene may result.
Shutdown and storage
- Lower the appliance completely to the ground, put tractor in park, turn off tractor engine
and remove the ignition key.
- Detach and store appliance in an area where it does not cause danger for people or pets
and where children normally do not play. Secure the appliance by using blocks and supports
so that it cannot tip over or move.
